I'm not religious, but I really liked the sacred choir music. And I always loved the majesty of Notre Dame de Paris and hearing those bells. Both the beauty and age of the cathedral are amazing. I had the great good fortune of visiting Notre Dame on Easter Sunday in 2001. The mass in Latin and the surrounding historical setting were just timeless. I was so sad to see the fire devastate this grand dame, but so grateful that the French people are restoring this treasure to the world.

Thank You for the video. It is the best of the best. Most of all, I thank you for including the Organ in the video. No other ones have said nothing of the organ. I know the organ is of later vintage but does contain some pipework from other previous instruments, a few complete ranks from the original instrument. When you said, 'The Cathedral has not suffered a major fire', sent chills throughout my body. In 2019 when the fire almost destroyed the Cathedral, I suffered for many days but knowing it would be rebuilt. Surely, we are fortunate to have gifted craftsmen and craftswomen who are working to get this work done by 2024. God Bless Them.

@eddygonzalez6018
@eddygonzalez6018 2 жыл бұрын
Wow, it's very hard to answer your question without going into a dissertation about Gregorian Chants, but I'll restrain myself. What your listening to is background music edited in during the production. You would have never hear this late polyphonic plainchant entering church, but only during mass. There are several recordings I recommend students or people interested in learning to appreciate the different types or modes of Medieval Ecclesiastical music. 1. The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos. This is an old order of Benedictine monks from Spain in the Santo Domingo Abbey in Spain. They've been singing chants since it's beginning in the 11 century. It contains a good variety of modes and styles. 2. VOICES: Chant from Avignon. These are all female voices although in it's time they would have been sung by children or "castratos". 3. Salve Regina-Gregorian Chants, if you can find it. This is a collection of chants sung by the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of St. Maurice and St. Maur, in Clervaux, Luxemburg. What makes this CD ilovely is it's recording during mass. It contains the background noise of the church atmosphere while preserving all the reverence and spirituality expected. This is the closest to the real experience felt in the 12 through 15 century Mass. There are many other good recordings, however, these particular ones encompasses a wide variety through time, modes and evolution of Medieval Ecclesiastical music. Hope that helps.

Very impressive; too bad we Christians lost Europe, Canada and soon to loose this country to secularism, indifference, Islam and religious apathy.

Hello northern friend, I agree with you - the liberal secularism that has gripped the West mostly from the latter half of the 20th century is by intention destructive of society. Now I have been watching this guy's videos for four years in total now, give some of his work a little look over. Steve Turley, he's on KZbin.

I love all this fluff and stuff but what if we didn’t need all this control in religion and just connected with each other instead of relying on church and government?

I just saw a documentary about westminster abbey. The documentary says that Westminster Abbey has 30 boys held captive there as catamites. This documentary doesn't say how many Notre Dame has, but considering what the French are like, I imagine they have many many more.

The story of NotreDame is only one in an entire history of centuries of European cruelty to humanity’s poor and weak. The fact that Europe didn’t care about the distress of regular people when they cried out in fear from the influx of Muslim migrants is the reason for the fire. It’s a tragedy, but one Notre Dame brought on itself by once again ignoring the cries of the people.
