Looking ahead but should we be worried that ND has to travel to New York to play army then across country to USC? Do you think the long travel and different time zones will have any affect on the team? It’s a bad scheduling spot.

@@justjoking7756 Same in 2012, 2018. ND had to win in 2000 to make the Fiesta Bowl. 1992 they won to get into the Cotton Bowl. 1988 was the 1 vs 2 game in the Coliseum. Many heartbreaks as well…Theisman great game ended with a L. Holtz last game was a L & cost them the Fiesta Bowl vs Penn State. It is a great rivalry!

Was listening to Irish Breakdown's show yesterday and I asked Driskell how SOS is calculated. It's based on the preseason polls and how the teams finished LAST YEAR plus their SOS gets a boost being in the BIG ten. PSU's schedule is really a lot worse than ND's so their ranking is totally undeserved. I wish Hyde would speak on that more.

Strength of Schedule is based on the teams you play won/loss record, which is weighed 2/3 in the formula. The other 1/3 is the teams ND plays opponents to gauge their strength of schedule. Also, in this formula you take out the win or loss ND gave the teams. For example, A&M is 7-1, Louisville 6-2, NIU is 5-4, Navy would be 7-1 in the formula. 4 Big Ten teams ahead of even the 2nd SEC team seems way off. Not convinced the Big10 nearly as strong as Play Off Committee seems to think. Though all 4 of those teams will make it. Curious what would point spread be on IU v GTECH

I heard last night if UGA beats Tennessee...it will be Alabama vs. the winner of the Texas vs. A&M game. The SEC teams in the playoffs will be Alabama, Ole Miss, the winner of the Georgia/Tennessee game Saturday & then the winner of the big game to end the season in College Station.

Tim...we don't have to be ranked 6th to get the 8 seed, we need to be ranked 7th to get 8 seed or 6th to get the 7 seed. This is because Miami is behind us and projected as the ACC bye. SEC, B1G, and Big 12 projected byes are all ranked ahead of us so those won't bump us down any seeds.

True & getting to 6th is key with Colorado looking to make the title game. ND hosting the 8/9 game is prediction. Committee will move teams around after the title game weekend.

@@TimHydecoach There has been talk of avoiding hosting an SEC team in first round. I have a different take...we aren't getting through this field without crossing paths with SEC...are we better off bringing them to SB in late Dec or playing them at a "neutral" site down South somewhere in warmer weather. My thoughts would be rip the bandaid off and bring Georgia, Tenn, Bama, etc to SB in Dec...like those odds better than meeting them down in Floridat or TX.

I can see 12-1 BYU with only a loss to Colorado in the title game getting the 11th seed over 11-1 Indiana. Going to be a fun last few weeks to the season.
