Notre Dame absolutely has the talent to win this game-no question about it. The real challenge lies with the coaches. If they can mastermind a big win on the road, it’s smooth sailing for the next month. We’ll be cruising through Cupcake City, giving the younger guys, especially the O-line, plenty of time to get up to speed. After Louisville, we face that terrifying opponent, Bye, followed by another month of relatively soft matchups. It’s the perfect setup to build momentum and let the team gel.

Brian. I'm worried! I hope these coaches can compensate for the inexperience.

We got battlers If young R .freshman beats out 2 exp guards ,thats a improvement ,Same with tough freshman beating out a 5 year veteran,These are guys that will hold there own,and will win with them ,you can get back blocking help on passing plays.

I've tried on a few venues to express this concern -- the simple concern that an inexperienced OL going against a DL with some star power is worrisome. I've gotten lambasted by some fans who have insisted that there is nothing to worry about, and that A&M, despite the coaching change, will just suck and that trumps all other concerns. It has gotten frustrating, because I am a huge ND fan (and an alum), so I hate to have ND fans coming at me the way they have. But, damn, this OL situation genuinely seems concerning. And the Aggie DL seems to have potential. I think it is a concern. Somehow, for some, that makes me a heretic. I find it ... strange. And it makes me kind of sad.

@@dashx1103 no matter who we put out there, the false starts are gonna be a reality at Kyle field. 5 at the minimum. I’m just hoping they hang in for the first half, play defense first and let Dembrock make the adjustments at halftime. Our defense is gonna have to carry more of this game and special teams will play huge.

@@drizzle452 That us one thing I don't buy ... ND might put out two OLs who struggle early in their careers. But there is no reason, beyond bad coaching, to expect those guys to commit multiple penalties. I don't see that happening.
