VERY proud of this season for Notre Dame. They played an equivalent of THREE New Years Six bowl games, top 10 post season games, in only one year. They went home with TWO Bowl game trophies to add to ND's trophy case. It was an odd thing watching this game. It is literally the reverse o0f how the ND Vs Indiana game played out. That is truly fascinating and very unexpected. Indiana had a terrific year for them by making their first ever CFP in the first ever CFP. ND also had a SPECTACULAR year. I expect ND will be back as a threat to win it all in 2025-2026 season. Indiana I just don't know. 8-4 may be their floor next year? Back to back 11 win seasons seems too pie in the sky. Let's see how the team fills out after Spring training and further transfers play out. This past recruiting year is rated around Indiana's second best in the modern recruiting rankings for what that means. Two of IU's transfers are coming back home. One left to play in the SEC for a year but is now back home. One left to play for Colorado and returned after one year. Teams may have to go to what Coach Allen used to do. Regularly play eight, or more, OL against the other teams starters. It would help in case of injuries.

I was fully prepared to stay up late and celebrate in the post game show, but the way the game unfolded, I was in bed by the end of the 3rd qtr and up early for work. Catching the replay this morning instead. The most frustrating part to me is that the team we saw last night was NOT the team the same team that reached the championship game. It felt to me like they out coached themselves and tried to get too cute. The defense didn’t line up scared and play on their heels, until last night. Giving up 4 TD’s in just a hair over one quarter was an absolutely devastating gut punch. The RB room was extremely productive in every game this year, until last night. It’s just so disheartening to lose in that fashion. Had they played the same style of ball and been bested by OSU, that’s one thing, but last night was just different, and not in a good way. 3 more hours of show to go. Thank you Bryan & IB Nation for a fantastic and entertaining season!

I agree. I thought on Defense they let Ohio State take them out of what is their game and what got them there. I think the injuries finally got to them too. On offense, I agree w IB in that way too many mistakes were made to put ND in a hole early. Great season though and ND never quit.

As an OSU fan who has historically had my beef with ND, I have so much respect for this team. The opening drive was one of the greatest drives in CFB history, and the grit to keep fighting through the second half was seriously inspirational. The Irish under Freeman have a bright future ahead. If they can keep putting together teams like this, there's no question they're going to break through soon.

2:03:40 OSU was blown out its last title appearance which a lot here in Ohio have forgotten (or try to- Michigan always seems to matter more). This game was not 2012 Bama ND either. MOV between last 3 meetings is 11, 3, 11.

@@arrowguy_173 that was a very weird post season. OSU and Clemson absolutely destroyed each other in the semis and multiple key players were out. Whoever faced Bama was getting crushed. I appreciate the positive review but losing by 11 is a big margin. ND was never in this game really - they added some drama but it was never in doubt. Them fighting is a given - freeman is a good coach and they have good players. But ND never dominated an elite team all year. it just looked hard and scrappy. Your playing the way Nick Saben played in 2013, 2014 - run the ball play good defense. You can win games but not dominate elite teams. Even the Georgia game, ND had one snap in the red zone the whole game. Did they deserve to win, of course. But could they win on special teams and TO battle 7 out of 10 times against GA, I don’t see it. And GA has their back up in there. Even Indiana, it just looked like it required effort to win and Indiana was an above average team at best compared to the dominate teams. Texas played Ohio state significantly better. I thought Texas actually might have a chance until 2 min in the 4th quarter with the ball to tie it at the 10 yard line. nothing has really changed as of yet - ND can’t dominate elite teams and still can’t . Freeman is a stud but gotta get more better players - leonard ain’t it

Nobody thought we’d be playing national championship after week two then go on and win 13 games in a row three playoff games and play in a competitive national championship game. No one can tell me we have the over whelming talent to just dominate the College Football landscape yet so let’s reload move on build momentum for next season. Great season! Impressed by this group. My only nitpick was I think they were outphysicaled in the last 2 games by the Big Ten teams. Their bread and butter running game only works against inferior competition. They've erased some narratives but a few of the same issues haunted them in this game.

You're completely wrong about angeli on the fake. It was toght coverage and Angeli delivered a perfectly thrown ball where only Faison could catch it without the defender able to disrupt the play. Faisin is at fault for dropping a pass that hit him in both hands.
@Jay521683 күн бұрын
Angeli never gets credit for anything and it blows my mind. He stepped up in a tight semi-final game and basically won it by driving us down the field to instantly score a FG. I get it, awe shucks Riley is a cute kid who loves the Bible and can run. Howard ran almost just as much this game, and passed successfully too. You bring up the difference between hating on and legitimately critiquing someone but I feel like that nuance is never present in conversations about Riley Leonard. How do you have an inconsistent passing QB and an inconsistent kicker and expect to win a national championship? Also the general attitude towards Howard in this video is bizarre to me. He is the QB who won his team the natty and had an excellent game. How about putting some respect on his name? If he’s nothing special, then what is our QB? I like Riley, some of his designed plays are cute. His style of play is not sustainable because of his lack of a respectable pass game, as we saw on full display. That first drive probably hurt them more than anything because 1. It ate up tons of clock they desperately needed later and 2. You instantly gassed your QB so he’s now ineffective in the following drives and you fall into too deep a hole and do the main thing you needed to not do-fall behind. You knew your defense was depleted due to injuries, in what world was instantly exhausting your QB to the point he pukes a good idea? Also hot take, we only won the PSU game because Angeli got put in, instantly moved us down the field and we scored a FG. It swung the momentum back to our favor. Those kind of drives are what your QB needs to be able to do. Notre Dame made it this far because of Love, Price, special teams, consistent picks and a great defense until it got depleted by injuries. Riley had some great moments, but I can’t lie I’m excited for ND to maybe have a QB who can throw the ball next year.

Listen OSU is the best team in the country talent wise. This might be the best team we’ve had since 2014. The reason yall scored the first drive and OSU has done this most of the yr is they like to feel around their opponents in first drives and sometimes first Quarters. Idk why they do that when they don’t need to but they do. That first drive I knew exactly what yall were doing before the ball was snapped. OSU knows to go 5 man front on 3rd & 4th and short especially with a QB whos arm isn’t consistent and loves to run. Why they never did when yall were clearly loading the line to set up a QB run idk and it was upsetting to watch. The score should’ve really been 38-0 a min or two into the second half. Not saying that to be rude just telling an outside looking in perspective. This was a good ND team but my opinion Hartman is a better QB. Y’all’s plays on O were very 1 dimensional. Run is y’all’s strengths and OSUs priority was stop the run and force Riley to throw. Yall faced OL adversity way too late in the season to try and fix it in 10 days. That’s why we almost lost to NEB because the reps weren’t there yet. But fr the only reason yall came back because once it was 31-7 we just wanted to protect the ball and run the clock out and put the ball at risk when we needed to so the drive can continue and stay out of y’all’s hands. Yall had a good yr I really couldn’t tell how good Yall were because I wanted to see Yall play UGA with Beck. I knew UGAs QB was not that good and yall would win that. But also tell your current & former players just be quiet and talk with pads and Lou and Gillis to keep their mouths shut and stop providing unnecessary bulletins board material. As far as PSU good win but that’s PSU ball under Franklin once they get momentum they like to get cute and allow momentum to shift. That’s not the first time they gave up a 10-0 lead and yall stated that in your previous vid. Next yr fill in the gaps that are leaving with equal or better talent and yall will be straight next yr. I like #1 he didn’t heat up til now but he’s gonna be good. Reminds me of Olave / Egbuka.
