They did have a reunion this year but under a different name “bang&jung&yoo&moon” which is their names put together only member not apart of this lineup is zelo (maknae) because he’s in the military & himchan will never be back due to his sex crimes. they been on tour performing songs from when they was b.a.p.

A comeback, actually! And they plan to continue when Zelo comes back. Their new songs are really good!

To add a more serious note: They were also just *terribly* mistreated by their staff and company all together. From legitimate *physical abuse* to them needing to tell their fans to stop buying their albums, because they were so incredibely overworked. Just puts their lawsuit into a bigger perspective.

Just to emphasize more on how popular B.A.P was. In 2012 they debuted among EXO, VIXX and BTOB, and they won rookie of the year. They pretty much popularized the hard hiphop style that BTS debuted with and it created a kinda rivaly between the 2 groups. B.A.P at the time stood above EXO, VIXX, BTOB and BTS, all of those groups are legendary and some of the most popular boygroups to have ever debuted. Trainees in the 3rd gen literally auditioned to their songs. If they weren't managed by TS entertainment (which is a notoriously evil and bad company) they definitely could've been among the top of the top in the entire industry

Thank you my friend I will never stop saying this Kpop owes a lot to the BAP projet. Said project paved the way, started the post-2nd generation new wave that helped boost the industry exponential international growth especially in the west. BAP challenged the codes without the assurance that it would work for them and knowing that they were part of a small company. Plus they promoted, in mainstream kpop with productions that were not trendy at all and absolutely out-of-the box with the probability that it wouldn't work - promoting with a song like Badman was insane back in the day. They are the first group that brought the idea of mascots and characters with their storyline (Matoki) in kpop which ended up a good marketing strategy the industry is still benefiting from. They are the first group project that took the leap of chance and went to perform on timesquare and blocked the whole area during the whole day back when kpop wasn't still as big. They made kpop solo act proper world tours with concert in Asia and the West, a thing. They came in the game with a new vision, a new energy, a new dynamism and the edginess that kpop needed (look at the Warrior begins concert to inow what I mean). Every groups that were active after BAP took off emulated them. Companies started molding their groups after BAP = the birth of the 3rd generation. There is the kpop before BAP and there is the kpop after BAP. And what we see today got the BAP project blueprint. BAP fault was doing all of that in the industry that will end up sacrificing and burying them.

I'm a metal head and don't really like k-pop in general, but I'm a huge fan of B.A.P since I happened to watch One Shot MV back in 2013, they are my only exception. I like the singing, rapping, dancing, even they awkward acting, but my favorite thing about them are the lyrics YongGuk writes and how they did progressive music that question and expose the society, thing that was unheard of in k-pop before them. They also do amazing live performances. I may be biased because I'm really into their message, but I recommend Badman, Young Wild and Free and Hand's Up. One Shot and Skydive are must watch because the MV are short films, They also have a soft funny goofy side that didn't attract me in the beginning but kinda grew on me, after all the pain they went through, seeing that was kinda healing, so Feel So Good and That's my Jam make great contrast with the other ones.

I just found them a few months ago, immediately loved Wake Me Up, One Shot, & still working my way thru their songs. I like physical media so I was excited to stumble on 5 of their albums in a used bookstore. I still like hearing an album cohesively and kind of like bonding with it. They have a good sound!

TS was the WORST COMPANY. All their artist ended suing them, so imagine. TRCNG, with some minors members, where living in a shithole without water and food. B.A.P were exploited af. They couldn't sleep and even when they were hospitalized, TS grabbed them and put them in a stage, so there is photos were you can see that Daehyun had a vial (?) and photos of Yongguk needing oxygen backstage. They uploaded a mini documentary preparing for their return this year (as BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON since they can't use B.A.P, because even if TS is dead, they are still making their life hell) they don't talk a lot about that time, but you can see that it was rough...

Four members just had a comeback! They couldn't promote under B.A.P. because of course T.S. were awful until the end but they had a mini album release called "Curtain Call" as Bang&Jung&Yoo&Moon (the family names of the four members) and the single was "Gone." I've been jamming it constantly since it has been out. Zelo is still in the military but there was talks of him joining the members once he is done!

My saying is : if TS killed BAP, the whole industry buried them. Every groups that were active after BAP took off, emulated them. Companies started molding their groups after BAP = the birth of the 3rd generation happened. They were the first for a lot of things. At that time It wasn't common to have a dark concept and singins about societal issues and less composing and writing your own music. Also things like having comebacks constantly. Before groups had one comeback a year if you were lucky. Right now you hear 10.000 copies and sounds like so little, but in 2012 that was A LOOOOOOOOOT.

As a fan of B.A.P since they deputed i remember as much it saddened the fans to see them go through this, i remember we were ALL happy when we saw the news that they’re leaving the company because we fans saw what these boys went through, their rise and fall and we saw the difficulties the company put them through so i remember as much we were so sad, fans and me including were genuinely glad they left the company and i wished the best for all of them and they did take time to gather themselves up, go through their military services and now they’re back looking more happy. It was sad seeing them fall apart because of that trash company because they didn’t do that just to Bap, they had another boy group where they treated them just as bad. They’re back now, sure they’re not as big as before but seeing them on stage and fans singing with them was so heartwarming to see. And yes, as someone who was in kpop for so long almost my whole life, there’s a lot of groups like BAP and went unseen because of many reasons, not having enough promotions, bad management, mistreatment etc… and BAP is just one of many, like maybe now it’s different since kpop is popular and groups can get a lot of attention quickly but before there so many groups went unnoticed and some had great careers and potential but for reasons they were forgotten and unseen. This industry is harsh and unfair.

Yes, they were definitely on that BTS scale. First generation k-pop reactors like Kspazzing, Minjongkey, jrekml and the likes were loving these songs. Highly recommend giving this group a listen, such talented men! Also, Badman was filmed in Detroit (idk why they left out the filming location) and as a Michigander that mv will always have a special spot in my heart 🥺

I'm one of the fans who were there watching them rise and fall. It was horrible, the fandom was devastated, some even said we'd rather have them quit because of how mistreated they were. Numerous medical records of them being overworked only to be paid lesser than a worker at a convenience store, pictures of a member performing on stage with a fresh bandaid on the wrist from getting IV fluid (after passing out from overworked, got dragged out of the hospital against doctor's advice), the CEO showing up DRUNK to a meeting with enraged parents of the members... It was insane, you'd think it was a scene from a low budget kdrama except it's real. The only reason they stayed for that long before finally filing the lawsuit was because they were waiting for the maknae, Zelo to reach adulthood so he could participate all the legal complications as an adult.

Answering the question from the beginning: I need to have music first, preferably a bunch of releases. If I don't fully enjoy the music, I'd just be a casual listener when a release is to my taste. There are so many idols I like for their talents and personalities, but I can't call myself a stan or a part of the fandom if I'm not excited about the music.

I think the industry is so greedy for money making, i know it happened to omega x, I liked them for quite a while and I remember they were really brave, they filed a lawsuit against their company because of a bad treatment, actually fans took some footage of them getting treated unfairly, and that was helpful to them, and they are now out of that company and working independently
