I 100% think he was abusing her before she turned 18 and managed to leave the house. That was why she got into the friend group that was rebellious and broke the rules. She probably had no adult to rely on and the boys in school who were giving her the gifts, she probably thought they would turn out to be the same as her brother. Even her getting married at 18, that guy probably treated her better than any guy ever had (probably the bare minimum in decency and had not directly forced her to sleep with him immediately) and had cemented himself as the best person in her life, only to then abandon her just like most people in her life did. The whole thing, she was most likely already traumatized and had been dealing with mental issues since she was young and finally had a psychotic break when she was finally abandoned by the only "good" person in her life. No doubt every person in her life knew she was vulnerable and shitty people have an accurate way of not only identifying those kinds of people but also exploiting them. I don't support the mother's decision but this is not something new either. Chances are, all the other kids she had have no contact with her and Fang was the only one who kept in contact with her. Maybe thats why she did what she did, viewing him as her only loyal son and his actions as a "mistake". Not to mention that regardless of what happened and her financial situation, whether you like it or not she was a neglectful mother even when her kids became adults.

He was toxic asf and yea, I just didn’t really see him as anything other than my moms then toxic boyfriend who unfortunately is my youngest sisters father. But yea, my aunt has also tried telling her how it’s wrong- well more so bc my mom is just…. It’s a lot tbh. But yea, I hate how she doesn’t really care abt anyone else other than herself atm.

35:26 This part didn’t make sense to me. Cece is a woman who likely had a functioning menstrual cycle. Of course her DNA and blood would likely be in the septic tanks. Checking the toilet would be totally pointless. If she were a man, that’d be weird, but not for a woman. Even shower and bathroom sink drains. Girls bathe on their periods and often clean up clothing stains from leaks in the bathroom sink. You’d end up with a lot of false positives, wouldn’t you? The kitchen sink would be more my theory. 36:24 Oh they meant for whole pieces of her, not just trace DNA.

As a mom , I can understand her asking them to take the death penalty off the table. In her shoes I would absolutely hate the killer and still want them severely punished, but there is no way I could be happy seeing one of my kids sentenced to death especially while still in the midst of grief for the one I already lost. I know in the US it can take years for the execution to happen but that's not always the case in other countries. I can see her not being able to bare the idea of having to bury two of her children so soon if their country has a short time between sentences and execution.

If you plead insanity and are found insane you are sent to a psych center but the doctors can at anytime say you are now sane and be released. Big difference between life or death in prison.
