Nice. The spotter DPS build was an early build I ran with as well just without a shield. I personally don't like the shield. Not my personal play style. With the change to ARs in TU 10 I think, ARs are just the way to go with the current content and difficulty. The synergy is Spot on.....see what I did there? Wink Great video mate.

@@ThatAbrax To farm for these pieces of gear/weapons/mods, would you recommend playing on Heroic or is Challenging good enough? Would you recommend farming Alert 4 Control Points for them or something like Summit which you can change targeted loot for?

@@galacticvol For better drops Challenging or Heroic is the best way to go, Heroic is the best but it depends on your current build. My go to for farming is the lvl4 Control points, When you play a Heroic mission, if you die you restart the whole mission but with a Heroic(lvl4) Control Point you can quick travel to the green gun icon(back up) to get back fast if something goes wrong. Plus Heroic Control Points drop a ton of loot! Hope that helps!

I'm sure you must have thought of this - would it not make more sense to have Ranger on the Rifle, as it'll be firing at longer ranges, and Boomerang on the Assault Rifle, with it's higher rate of fire getting more crits?

If I were to work on this build at level 30 but I decided I wanted WONY later on, how much time would I have to spend reacquiring and optimizing my gear again once I get to 40? Thanks!

No problem, glad you've found them helpful! With WoNY you pretty much start your gear grind again because gear at level 40 is much stronger then top gear score, I'd still say it's very much worth a play!

surely in sync is better for the m16? if this build is built around burst damage like you said in sync would give you 30% damage buff for a 5s burst compared to the 6-12 for ranger

This depends on the range you're firing from at 10m In-Sync would do more damage but the trade off is convenience and consistency, With In-Sync there is a 15,682 increase to the damage but only for 5 seconds it's active and that's also dependant on the skills, If your shield get's downed you can't use that extra damage until the cooldown ends. When we get to 20m, Ranger does 2,368 more damage then In-Sync due to the weapons damage drop off. I think it depends on your own playstyle and how you want to use the build.

I appreciate that you might use the M4 at range for the most part, but the ranger talent is pretty useless within 20 meters if you get rushed. You’d be better off with Obliterate or Strained for not being distance limited to produce maximum talent output. I think ranger is great for “ranged” weapons.

Hey mate I am a new player and this build has carried me all the way to my first legendary mission Is there any reason why you dont use a coyote mask? It was my first exo and it seems to fit in perfectly with this build I also got a chameleon early and thought that might go nicely but maybe im missing the point haha Would you say its worth optimising gear that has all the right rolled stats just not quite at their highest? or just farm for god roll pieces? Also to farm "The Gift" would it be better to farm backpacks or providence brand as the targeted loot? Thank you so much

I'm really glad the video has helped you out! You could swap out for the Coyote's Mask if you like to play up close and feel the benefit within 15m with the extra crit damage but I tend to use this build at the 15m-25m range so the 10% crit chance goes to waste because the build is already at the hard cap and the 3 piece Providence give the build 15% crit damage over the Coyote's 10%. It's very usable in the build it's just preference and playstyle!
