And the police officers who dealt with the investigation have to deal with such scenes of such evil attacks and murders, they see this sort of thing everyday, so they do what many in such a situation would do they use brutal language to describe a scene, butchered in terms of a homicide isn't an abnormal term. They'll also use dark humour to deal with what they see every day, the worst humanity can offer, so I'm sorry if it's hurt the families feelings but this how the police operate, you are not going to change that when it's a coping mechanism to do the job. Police who investigate murders regularly use the term victim, not the name of the victim, it's a distancing mechanism, it's something they can't actually help because they do it due to the trauma of dealing with such things every day. I'm sorry but those offended should go and work in a morgue for a week, see how they cope with dealing with death all day everyday with the odd homicide thrown in for good measure.

Words are not violence. Indeed, words PREVENT violence. When arguments and disagreements flare, you TALK IT OUT rather than resorting to attacking each other physically.

People will keep coming as long as you give free stuff ! Cash pocket money to send home ! Who in their right mind ,invites their enemies and pays their living costs and keeps Doing that ! Until their own citizens have no faith in governance. Add to that a police force who are useless, to the point of sideing with terrorists And then give London an Islamist for a mayor ! It's a huge mess !

The real question here is why were the messages leaked? People in high stress jobs need an outlet to talk openly and in confidence, they need to be able to make inappropriate comments and dark jokes in a private setting, it's a well known and common thing for people in this type of job to do, it's very important pressure release valve, ask anyone who has served in the military about dark humour.

I think the use of "proper" was probably to convey emphasis to their actual physical state. Textual information can be quite vague, and all vagueness has to be thoroughly mitigated in serious situations.

Messages on WhatsApp groups are meant to be private so sorry but the mother should perhaps have kept her nose out of other people's private communications?

Or she should try to understand why it's police use such language, she'll find they do so as a means to deal with what they see everyday, because it's traumatic dealing with the afternoon a killer. It's traumatic seeing a butchered body, it's deeply traumatic hearing the wails of a mother as she's told her child is dead. I feel for this family but they're starting to irritate me they going through the grief process in public, it seems at the moment they're in the anger stage. I don't she the older gentlemans family coming out every fives mins.

Can’t see really what police have done wrong here. Blunt language is not disrespectful. Basically he said “butchered” and that makes a news story!!!!!?
