The mother of one of the Nottingham Knife Attack victims has hit out at the BBC after learning it has broadcast interviews with the family of her son's killer on TV.
Emma Webber's son Barnaby, alongside his friend Grace O'Malley-Kumar and school caretaker Ian Coates were all stabbed to death by Valdo Calocane in the city centre last June.

We expect very little from the BBC these days which is okay as what they have to say is biased, irrelevant and often min information to suit the narratives of unseen individuals and groups. Not reporting stabbings and minority groups rioting and disorder and attacks on police gives little confidence in the BBC and their ability to present accurate news of actual events regardless of the narratives of faceless executives ...BBC no longer trustworthy due to bias, and people say not worth the licence fee. Speaking as a retired Mental Health professional, I hold the Nottingham Mental Health services responsible for the dereliction of their duty of care of Valdo Calecone. This reliance on community care , coupled with the relatively short admissions to hospital , have played a significant part in the deaths of these three victims. To have discharged someone, with an untreated acute paranoid psychosis, to the care of a GP for disengaging from services, is unbelievable and foolhardy.

Absolutely unbelievable. I live in Nottingham, two minutes walk away from where he deliberately ran three people over in a van. Everyone in this city knew there was a lot more to the story than had been revealed, and many suspected the police, NHS, and the University of Nottingham (where he had tried to break into other students flats to attack them) were all involved in a cover up to hide their multiple failings. My heart goes out to Ms Webber and all the other families of the deceased, and I hope they eventually get the accountability from the police, NHS, UoN, CPS, and the judiciary, and that those who made the most egregious mistakes and/or attempted to engage in a cover up, lose their jobs and are publicly shamed, and shame on the BBC.

And for THREE years they said he’s not fit for society and he will kill someone and his family. They deemed him when he was 13/14 years old that he cannot even be rehabilitated yet the CPS / CPC continuously denied that he needed further looking into. And wala, by the time he is 17 he murders a load of little girls. They should start handing out hearty prison sentences for the negligence in their job whoever makes these decisions. Worst still, that 17 year old lad will live a cushty life as he won’t go to a general pop prison, he will go to a special one where he can do gardening, have free time and space and live out his life completely protected whilst the families mourn for the rest of their lives and suffer.
