Central to all these intrusions was resentment at her success, ignoring the fact that she earned it. And she made a vital point: the damage done cannot be retracted. It's permanent. I applaud and admire her courage and tenacity.

For those reading the idiotic comment above, JKR was one part of the huge Levenson Inquiry in 2011 into the tactics of the UK gutter press and Rupert Murdoch that includes the tactics Rowling recounts along with phone tapping and bugging. There were many well known UK celebrities involved including Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan. Anyone who gives a shit about the behaviour of the mainstream media understands the significance of it. "Why is this project important? The Leveson Inquiry into the culture, practices and ethics of the press was the most public and wide-ranging inquiry of its kind in British history - a reflection of the central role of news and journalism in modern society. Witnesses included five prime ministers, leading proprietors and editors, journalists, celebrities, judges and victims of wrongdoing, and their testimony was seen live by large audiences online and on television. The rise of ‘fake news’ and the accelerating decline of print have ensured that the Inquiry’s important work on press freedom, responsible media and safeguarding remains as topical as ever - yet the archive content has remained inaccessible to many. It had been structured according to a logic that made sense for a live inquiry, but that logic no longer applied and the site became increasingly bewildering. It did not help that for some time there was no search tool at all. This precious resource was crying out for new thinking, new signposting and new explanatory material to guide the reader impartially through the issues - and for the best search tools. Discover Leveson delivers those. Two years in the making, Discover Leveson is a new, fully searchable and freshly curated online public archive, ensuring that any reader, from the professional to the casual, can now tap into this rich resource easily and even enjoyably. In this way, the efforts of the Inquiry and of those who gave evidence will not be wasted, and there is a greater chance that its primary mission - learning lessons for the future regulation of journalism - will be fulfilled. The archive is of great historical significance, capturing a picture of Britain’s 300-year-old print press industry in the final period of its power. But the main task of the Inquiry was forward-looking, addressing questions that remain pressing today and will do so into the future. How can the public interest be defined, and by whom? When might journalists be justified in intruding into someone’s privacy? When does partisanship compromise accuracy? Can regulators be truly independent? Can journalists be compelled to accept a regulator’s authority without creating a form of censorship? What is the proper role of politicians in the regulation of journalism and how far are they subject to improper influence from by editors and proprietors? Working with the National Archives and partners the SDS Group, the David & Elaine Potter Foundation and the Alexander Mosley Charitable Trust, Kingston University has designed a free, fully searchable, intuitively curated resource, putting this rich archive of material in easy reach of the general public, and also of researchers and professionals across journalism, communications, law, history, politics, criminology and other fields." discoverleveson.co.uk/home/aboutproject

So it okay for the mainstream media to invade the privacy of a family Because of one member is a well known person like that if this was anyone else you would say no and you would definitely be saying no if it was someone you know on a personal level just because you disagree with JKR doesn’t mean you get to choose who’s the victim in this case the evidence does that alongside testimony does. Act accordingly and think to your age not your shoe size .

I respect the trials she’s been through and some of the treatment she’s received is truly despicable. But it also amazes me that this seemingly sensitive, intelligent woman who went through all this then turns around and cyber-bullies an innocent female athlete with no evidence, to the point where people were demanding to see this poor woman’s private body parts? A woman who was born and lived her whole life in a country where gender-affirming care is nonexistent? A country where she could be jailed, assaulted, or even murdered over these false accusations? That’s not the JKR I grew up admiring. She has turned into the kind of person she used to stand against. It hurts my heart.

I am glad not living in Algeria, where free speech in limited. You are a little bit confused. Nobody wants to see Imane Khelif's privat body parts!! J.K. Rowling does neither mind men with DSD (Disorders of Sex Development; XYY, XXY etc.) nor transpeople at all. Rowling only fights for fairness for women and girls: Women's safe spaces such as sport categories, women's prisons, women's/girls' locker rooms and shower rooms, shelters for battered women, etc.. The IBA disqualified Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting during the women's boxing World Championship 2023. The IBA said, that these athletes are males, having XY-chromosomes and hight testosterone levels (blood tests). The world knows that the IBA is a corrupt Russian organisation, but the tests were carried out by an independent laboratory.!! Both athletes accepted the disqualifications, even if Khelif was almost winning the gold medal! Probably the two athletes did not take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), because they wanted the medical tests and their results kept private; so, they were able to attend the Olympic Games and go on with their cheat, because they knew, that the IOC does not do DNA tests and testosterone tests for boxers. Khelif's father showed Imane's birth certificate to the press. The certificate is dated 2018!! That implies, that Imane has DSD, and the midwife or gynaecologist could not determine the sex of baby Imane just by the look of his body. That is not a rare situation. It happens rather often, that baby boys are born with DSD and then, because of their external appearance are brought up as girls. But then comes the puberty, the Y-chromosome kicks in and it brings the awareness to those children (no breast growing, no menstruation, big hands and long arms, wide shoulders, less body fat, big muscles, dense bones ect.). Depending of the variety of the DSD, those teenagers, advised by their doctors, then decide, which way they want to live on their life, /pretending to be women or being plain men with DSD. I do not know anybody, who said Khelif is a transwoman, but he's probably a man with DSD (XYY or XXY). - The Y-chromosomes gives people having it an advantage over women (XX) in sports. (e.g. Caster Semenya and others) and therefore it is unfair for men with DSD (and men/transwomen too) to compete against women in sports. By the way, Thomas Bach, president of the IOC, had to resign. - DNA test for female athletes have to be carried out once, to safe women's sports!!!

How dare you to threaten J.K. Rowling with assault or murder, in case she visits your country (Algeria?)! Concerning the IBA statement, Imane not filing a lawsuit with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and Imane's birth certificate from 2018, Rowling is right claiming Imane is a man (with DSD?) with an advantage over women in sports and taking away a real women's admission to compete!

I used to admire her so much. These days watching her descend into madness is much more entertaining than any of her derivative books ever were. She is a perfect example of someone who made the mistake of believing they were special and who consequently wound up believing they could never be wrong. Taking herself a bit too seriously. It is a shame though. Like I said, we need heros in our very mundane lives. Too bad she is not one.
