Speaking as a retired "professional" driver, there were occasions where it was actually safer NOT to signal. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people out there who consider it sport to force a taxi driver into submission; I would signal to change lane, and matey behind would stamp on the loud pedal to make sure I would have to do so behind HIM...! Move quickly, and catch the blighter by surprise; you're where you need to be without drama because he hasn't tried blocking you. Happily retired by the seaside now, and I don't need to do it any more... The train was a bit interesting because it was a seasonal railhead cleaning train with a pair of Class 66 running "top 'n' tail" for convenience of single line sections...

At around 2:00 the BMW straddling the main road waiting for a gap to turn right out of the of the side road. Having got themselves into that situation, they could have straightened up and waited in the cross hatching in the middle, parallel to the main road traffic and out of everyone's way. I've sometimes done this when the main road is very busy and waiting for it to be clear in both directions would mean waiting for ages. In such cases, if it can be done safely, break it down into two halves, which is what I think the BMW was trying to do...but not the optimal way to do it. Another consideration with the method I outlined: If you are indeed waiting in the middle for a gap in the traffic that is now coming through parallel and behind you on your left, switch to left indicator to show you are intending to merge in.

And I thought Newark was a nice quiet town! 😉😂 How the hell did that driver not see he had no lights on, normally now they might at least have DRL's, looked like you were just going to give him some advice, A bit like I do when I shout LIGHTS! As I pass them. Have a good weekend fella.

Fantastic video buddy, bloke with no lights on looked almost invisible and women texting all over the road is just a danger to everyone.
