Being a local using the footpath from Gunthorpe to Colwick at some time every year for many years, I found your footage, especially the drone footage, absolutely brilliant. I thought you might have mentioned the canoe slalom on the National Water Sports Centre in your shots close to the sluice gate gates at Colwick. Not surprising though, they were hardly discernible in the torrent of the wide flood at that point. The views provided by the drone were stunning and captivating. I have spent many hours in the area as a cyclist and walker and your footage was fascinating from beginning to end. Top notch, thankyou.

This is remarkable.I live locally to all this flooding. I have seen it flooded down there many times down the years when we have had a lot of rain or snow melt. However I don't recall us having that much rain recently.We have had about an inch of snow locally which melted quickly.I think a lot of this is failure to dredge the small rivers and drains which get blocked with fallen autumn leaves and twigs at this time of year. The authorities used to dredge and clear all the debris in years past and I'am sure this helped to prevent flooding to a certain extent. A lot of the water flows down river from where there has been more rain and snowfall than here and eventually into the Humber at Trent Falls. Great video.Thankyou...
@waynemay732712 күн бұрын
That's exactly what I'm thinking: the UK hasn't had much rain at all recently and this video was filmed before any snow had melted. Where's the water come from?

Areas upstream don’t allow for overflow to sink in the ground ‘flood plains’ as councils have allowed urbanisation to increase revenue. Plus, many rivers should have been dredged over the many years as preventative maintenance. Something they do with canals. Do those politicians living in ivory towers on hill tops give a 💩, probably; maybe if flooded residents take their grievances and anger to London.
