Gives more information on the noun it describes . I get this. Which one ? What kind? No problem. Thanks. Not bad at all. I used to teach advanced grammar as a second language . The native grammar viewpoint is fascinating .

Pre-modifiers of a noun phrase are determiners, but can they also be adjectives? Can a post-modifer of a head-noun be an adjective?

So if a prepositional phrase comes immediately after a noun it's a noun phrase but if there are words in between it's an adjective phrase?

"What's an ounce phrase?" she asked. "A phrase in which the word 'ounce' appears." "Like, 'there's an ounce on the table.'? "No, not really, because that is a sentence, not a phrase." "So what's a sentence?" "A string of words that makes perfect sense," he said proudly. "Like, 'there's an ounce on the table."? "Well, yes."
