Mikhail, That involuntary nose touch -- which Roubini does right at the outset -- is normally considered a give-away that a person is lying. Just sayin'... But Roubin's main schtick is that we were all dead from debt some time around 1982. What he does, basically, is sprinkle a few well known and obvious facts among a lot of indiscriminate horror-story spews. Roubini is not "one of the most famous economists in the world." He is one of the world's most prolific, and least discriminating, merchants of doom, a total crank. He has predicted every horrible thing that ever happened, and the rest? The just haven't happened *yet*.

I beg to disagree. Roubini has a profound understanding of economics that many members of his profession lack.
