Nova's Prestige 1 and 3 are really fun and strong: P3 with her super cloak, increased aoe/cd of Sabotage Drone lets her just go straight into bombing fortified locations. Her and/or troops and allies easily mop up any remaining resistance. With an aggressive ally, she can soften locations then move to harder locations before your army/ally start hitting softened targets. Attack waves are easily defended with Air Strikes and P3 puts heavy pressure on objectives. The precision and gogogo mentality makes this an absolute blast that quickly and easily gets missions completed. P1 lets her play more specialized armies than her base version. Want a ton of Marines+Ghosts with a few Raven backup? Ezpz. Want a ton of Siege tanks? Ezpz. Massing any unit from the Starport is also tons of fun. After feeling forced into certain blends of units in her base version, this allows you the ability to mix up what army compositions she can make. The possibilities are very powerful and fun.

@@herrgargoyel6576 I used to play Karax and Nova with a very bunkerish army, it's useful how well she can get that defensive position moved around. If you go factory heavy expect to use a lot of Siege Tanks. Rangers are a waste of minerals. Much better to spend it on Siege Tank spider mines or strikes. Karax's repair beam is pretty spectacular with Raven's Turrets.

Honestly my Nova experience has me drowning in minerals half the time, tactical airlift and defense drone aren't that big a drain (airstrike is different) in mid-late unit population isnt too bad either, with Vespine normally being the limiter. Just saying, tac airlift is undersold here.

Hold up, what? Nova's lore is fairly simple, she just got catched by the Defenders and brainwashed, then when she realized that she is working from the bad guys she escaped (that's the first mission of the mission pack) and worked for the Dominion to eliminate the Defenders.

Your guides are so much better than bigger youtubers because you actually show everything the commander is about, if you type for example alarak guide you will find 40 min videos of gameplay with some commentary and you get nothing out of it, your format of shorter videos where you show us everything is so much better.

Nova P3 teamed with Karax P3 seems like it would allow a cheesy strategy where you heavily defend your base while having Nova spot for call-down attacks, especially on the missions where your objectives consist of destroying things rather than protecting them. If someone ever wanted to try for some sort of “zero losses on brutal” type of challenge, doing this strategy on a “destroy the things” map seems like a good shot since the only unit who needs to leave the safety of your heavily-turtled base is undetectable.

My only complaint is most other heroes will out pace her and you can feel useless when theyre running in full force whilst your army is kinda just supporting them more or less. But that could just be a "git gud" issue on my part

Out of all the Terran commanders I feel that Nova is the most fun when you don't want too much busywork and focus more on controlling the army. Not having to make supply depots is a huge plus so you don't have to look at your base and make depots every 30-45 seconds. Yet compared to Tychus you still make some units and it's not just controlling a small bunch of heroes. Very fun, and very strong too if you make sure to keep your units alive. Very dependable commander for all situations: mobile with bio units and air lift; pushing into enemy entrenchments with defense matrix drone and maybe a nuke or air barrage; hold defensive positions with siege tanks, goliaths, maybe liberators; very good support by just attaching one or two ravens to your ally's army on a second control group, and also these ravens help with capture points that require units from both players. Not having to make the supply depots also frees up so much attention and APM that I can use to react to enemy/ally movements and micro in the battle too.

I must say that Nova P1 is perfect for guys who hate micro and prefer a more laid back experience by concentrating to either infantry, vehicles or spaceships, all with a flavor of Ravens, of course. Nova leading the charge with a combo of Goliaths and Siege tanks backed up by upgraded Ravens absolutely melts down anything.

Honestly speaking, even though it's a general overview 1) The community needs that. I honestly believe that most of the "guides" feel a lot more like reference material for people who already know the game very well. 2) Very little that is actually said is really wrong. Well, aside from recommending marauders and hellbats, you should almost never make those. But (and I know I'll take flack for this) the power gap between Nova's bad unit and her good units isn't that big. And for mastery, more than 20 points in unit life regen is almost certainly overkill seeing as it only works out of combat. Hey, you label it a guide, I'll be picky. 3) There's a lot that's subjective, and a lot that's skill and practice based. No guide is going to agree exactly with, well, pretty much anyone. If you have a guide where people don't disagree on anything, it's probably because the guide isn't actually saying anything of substance. But hey, if people really think this guide is so bad, then make your own. And I will be just as picky about your guide and everywhere it is lacking. In conclusion, good on you @ToxicSpill for making this guide, and keep making more. I know there are a lot of people who will pick on it because believe it or not people in co-op take the game even more seriously than in 1v1, but these videos really fill a spot that has been lacking for a long time.

I think that people should come to their own conclusions on whether a unit is good or bad as there are different army compositions and strategies. Small note, I recommend NOT getting the marine vision and range upgrade as they will stack worse, moving them to 6 range puts them at the same range as the Maurader and ghost for example.

Ravens are so good, not just the healing but also the turrets. You can place down defensive lines within seconds at zero cost that will draw fire away from your army. The predator missile is a bit underwhelming since it's too slow to be effectively used in fights.

Yep, Nova, she used to be the "Tychus" buy where when people don't really wanna play macro commanders, as well as how much flexible she is, there isn't much to say really, she's straightformward to learn. That Prestige 3 you mentioned is really good but takes a bit of time to get used to it, you army will just go deal with attack waves or clear air units as Nova helself will sabotage entire bases.

How to play as Nova: Step 1: Grind for Soldier of Fortune Step 2: Grind back to LV15 Step 3: Optimize for gas and star port Step 4: Buy all of the Raven's and Liberator's upgrades. Do Raven upgrades first as you'll have them first before Liberators. Step 5: Build Liberators, just Liberators. Support with 4+ Ravens. Step 6: Grats, nothing short of mutators can stop you 95% of the time. Only place this won't work is Dead of Night and you're defending.

I gotta disagree with you here. Nova's P2 is INSANELY GOOD, it makes the tactical airlift have a 30 SECONDS cooldown. This basically makes Nova's army omnipresent. The airstrike now changes to 120 seconds cooldown which is not bad since it costs 1k minerals you're not spaming it anyways.

Weird, he didn't mention or show once, Nova's best ability. Her drone energy skill that is basically a nuke and completely invisible/invulnerable that you can move around for the first like 5 seconds. Its a nuke you can use to scout that only costs energy. Her prestige's are mostly useless though.
