Dear Nova is a deep one. And Runnin' is an anthem, for sure. And the videos that she and Tom did together "I'm Not Well" and "Pillz -RP Jesus" are definitely insight into their history.

Nova signed with a label back when she was a teenager, 18 I think, and has only now gotten out of the last of the legal entanglements from that. This is her first solo, fully independent release. Such a powerful song. 💔 🤘❤‍🔥 #NovaRockafeller #HangOverGang

Great reaction. Nova was in group homes from 15-18 years old, She lived this song and has lost friends and such to the streets. She is a fantastic artsit and person. Will you please check ouy Hey You by Nova?

So after hearing Nova talk about this song so much, the first verse was inspired by her friend who overdosed in 2017. I believe one of the girls that she was in group homes with. And then the second verse was about a friend that more recently was in a motel room dooesick off heroin and wanting to commit suicide. The song is even more special, because this is the first song she's been able to put out completely 100% separate from the music industry. She's been independent for a very long time, but only recently was able to pay off the debt and remove herself from her old label. She wrote this song a while back, I think it's been finished for almost a year. But this is the first song she put out that she truly owned completely, master and all. She said that this was more of a blip in her life... Moments that were taking place within a sad environment, but where happy memories were made and lifelong friendships were forged. I think this was kind of like a tribute to the ones who didn't make it out. Nova feels like she is the exception, that she wasn't supposed to make it out, she wasn't supposed to find the success that she has now. In some ways I think she feels guilty that she did make it out and that she has found success. Sometimes I don't think she knows how truly special she is.
