The way you guys do previews is great. I can understand how the mechanics works and how it "feels" during the game.

The action selection is really fun, and it's variable setup keeps it fresh every game.

This looks cool. Art by The Mico I'm guessing? And, um, will we be seeing some further info on Marrakesh essential edition soon?😁
@meeple Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's the Mico. And yes, some Marrakesh Essential is coming your way. We'll likely do a comparison breakdown.

We're looking for another game to possibly back. This may be the one.

If you like what traditional euros do, but with a cool new action-selection mechanism, this is certainly an option. By the way, thanks for stopping by for our Super Mario Labyrinth livestream today! Always nice to see newer viewers in the comments!

I was wondering if you were to assign a BGG Weight (complexity) rating, what would it be?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
VERY medium weight in my opinion. Probably right around a 3.0 give or take.
@azfactor7875 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It looks to be more intimidating than that, what with all of the different areas to consider and keep track of. If you don't mind another question, I noticed the BGG page indicated that playing time was 60-120 minutes. Would you say that's accurate?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
@@azfactor7875 Don't mind at all. It's hard to say, but I think that range is reasonable. Any players with some experience will be able to get it to a consistent 90 minutes I would think.
@sanderschippers2708 Жыл бұрын
I think a little more complex then Resurgence.

I know they are completely different games, but 1 Roman-themed game is enough for me … Concordia or Nova Roma, which is more fun and more satisfyingly crunchy?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
In terms of fun, I would personally give it to Nova Roma. Crunchiness is close. I would say it comes down to the kinds of mechanisms you enjoy most.
@tiford184 Жыл бұрын
@@meeple thanks, is the player interaction in Nova Roma better than the usual worker placement dynamic? It looks like it might be, with the strength of action mechanic and the different locations on the board.
@meeple Жыл бұрын
@@tiford184 very much so. The extra variables considered when placing make it that much more tense when hoping no one takes your action before you do.

@@meeple thanks for the help. Do you think it could break into the top 100?

Do you all talk about the Solo mode in the video?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
We do not, but it's kind of a modified version of the 2-player game (which is what we played). The Emperor tiles that usually just identify where to place the Emperor are ALSO used in the solo game to place the Legionnaire (red blocking pieces). The AI chariots in the hippodrome also move forward based on the chariot tokens that are flipped up. The AI also has scoring tokens placed around the board at 20, 30, and 40 VP at the beginning of the game, and there are ways for those to move up as well throughout.

I will be playing and talking about the solo mode this Saturday on a live stream. Jeremy

Indeed it does. It's the same artist, and many of the game he works on have a similar vibe. I love that art though.

At first glance I thought it was new version of Trajan
@meeple Жыл бұрын
It's funny you mention Trajan. I thought of that game while playing this one--mainly due to the compartmentalized areas for potential scoring.

The game looks very interesting, but again illustrations by The Mico? It's like I'm playing Endless Winter. If you shuffle the cards of the two games you won't be able to tell the difference.

You aren’t building Rome , it’s Constantinople or Istanbul .. which used to be called “nova Roma “ or new Rome
