Djokovic has given so much to tennis and brought his wisdom from his encounters in a war torn Yugoslavia to a society that is step by step descending into a Gehenna on a global scale. It unnecessarily cost him GS but he kept his self-respect. He has done so much for other players when he didn’t to. He just did it out of the kindness of his heart. Yet, the media in collaboration with ATP have flooded him with so much demonization and animus to the extent that they would do everything they can to affect his rhythm. It didn’t work and it was fantastic to see. He doesn’t have to apologize to anyone. He should be unashamed motivating everyone to keep on going and doing what is right for them in the face of unnecessary disaster.

They simply don’t like to give this man his dues.

He has changed some of his answering style .. he was maybe very modest before now he sort of owns his success... no longer in the shadows of Fedal and he is the undisputed champion. He also has worked very hard for it to be winning at this stage in a physically grueling sport competing with 20 something is extraordinary.. and not just competing but winning... its not that his aura causes the others to drop their level.. I do wonder if some of the motivation he says is actually pressure to keep going..pressure of identifying with this sort of record and success.. the expectation built around it... he has nothing to prove no doubt but way he answered the question he seems to carry a lot on his shoulders ... its like a sportsman celebrity and the industry / machine built around it..that said the level at which he plays definitely improves the quality of next gen as they try to compete and win so in some ways he is shaping the next generation... through lessons and experiences in matches with him... what a year !! age is just a number..

What makes him stand out is his desperation to become the best, and this is not in a negative way. He takes each and every loss ultra seriously and makes sure not to fall into the same patterns in the subsequent matches. I think this is what nadal probably meant when he said Novak would be frustrated if he didn't got the record.
@jimnosnow4484 Жыл бұрын
The Cincinnati match really could’ve changed so much. Had Novak lost that match point or even that last set after being ahead, you gotta think he’d start to feel like he really was second best to Alcaraz. That win reassured him and that loss changed Alcaraz. Now, much alike most young players, Novak loses 2 of the first 3 matches then turns it around completely. Alcaraz and Rune will become the next Nishikori and Tsitsipas in terms of rivalry.

For now, your internal clock and fitness age is nowhere but young, so young. I don’t know if you have noticed it but it seems that time is passing slower on you than the rest of people, wish Einstein is around to explain the phenomena 😅 Congrats champ, keep cracking records, it’s your destiny.

Exactly... Very good to hear I from him... He put all three of them in same level as it really is since they are still so very young... I am not a Djokovic fan but Federer instead, though it will be very fun to watch him in 2024...

The top ranked players came out tops and that is good ! The runners uo can learn from Novak, how to come back after a loss.

Great speech by Nole here. It would be fun to come up with a different collective name for Jannik Carlos and Holger. The "next big 3" seems way too overexaggerated. Does anyone have any thoughts? Something like the Triplets or a name with a 3 in it. Because I agree with Djoko here, those 3 really are the best of the bunch. But who knows, there might be some kid out there 5 years younger getting ready to crush them all in the future lol. Until then, the Triplets? are the future

Alcaraz and at the end also Sinner turned out to be a light snack for Nole in this tournament. I m rather disappointed by their performance in the semifinals and finals. Mentally not on the level to be able to step up to the plate and at least put on a heartfelt fight.
@riccardomariani4660 Жыл бұрын
Sinner didn't play his best tennis in the final while djokovic was perfect, when someone plays that well it is truly difficult to win. I think sinner felt a bit of pressure because otherwise he was n1 material for the rest of the turnament, his match against djokovic in the rr was a masterclass and also beating rune for the first time and medvedev for the third time in a row shows how much he matured in the last months. He closes the season as number 4 with more then 6000 points(that in other periods would grant him higher position possibly even n1) 12 victories against top 10s , his first masters and many other achievements. He is only 22 and his game can still improve a lot, that is what gives me hope for his future

@@riccardomariani4660 no doubt, as Nole said, the future is theirs. It's just that i , as a spectator, was hoping for more Thrill and nerve wracking uncertainty in a SF and F when it's most important. Otherwise exept for this F for Sinner it was an amazing season. As for Alcaraz , since Cincinnati it seems as if he has hit a wall. Both mentally succumbing to the high expectations. Who could blame them at their age...

Djokovic is realistic. He realizes the end is coming due to his age, and it will be a shame that it will be only his age that stops him beating these young guys! The level he is playing at 36 yrs old is astounding, and I wonder how many more years he has left at the top? Even a year ago there was an argument about who was the GOAT, but Novak is now undisputed as the GOAT!!
@connor8636 Жыл бұрын
He's not physically declined and his tennis skills have improved. He's through the scary period of 30s when a big injury could have sidelined him for a year or two, or physically declined him enough to not be top 10 anymore. Federer looked amazing at 37 but looked every bit 37 with milage and injuries, Djokovic hasn't so this is unique genetic makeup and unprecedented in sport to still be in his prime. He can play at 40+ if he wants to because he's only going to look 30 at 40. I'm afraid to tell Fedal fans that he's a freak of nature and it's only boredom that will defeat him. We need to stop mentioning age now because it's making everybody look bad. He's the GOAT in every area, especially longevity. Eye test= 25 athletically=prime
@mikthe2004 Жыл бұрын
@@connor8636 Novak is a freak for sure, but age will still get him. Alcaraz, Sinner and Rune exhibit the same kind of athleticism, and will soon be denying Novak the big titles. Alcaraz is mentally amazing!! People forget how fragile Novak was early in his career. It took him time to get where he is now. I'm really curious to see how long Novak can go?? But one thing for certain. It won't be forever!!
@connor8636 Жыл бұрын
@@mikthe2004 This guy doesn't get it. You obviously aren't a tennis player or true fan to see this is unprecedented. His tennis technique, tactics have improved, his athleticism hasn't changed since 2011, since he became glutenovic and recharges at Bosnian pyramids. No but seriously did you watch his semi and final at the ATPFinals? The guy is miles ahead, totally unplayable when he bothers to try and like I said, he's in control over his own destiny. Bad news for you pal, he can play until at least 2025 and dominate and like I said, if he's not bored he could go until he's 45. There's never been an athlete this Godly at his age. He's not declined, hence why he's the goat athlete nevermind tennis player. Keep crying that he's beaten father time.

Nole the only player among the greats pushing for bigger prizes on early rounds to allow low ranked players to earn more. As head of player's association he cares for the small players. The other big 4 of his era couldn't care less.
