Chung reminds me of the rise of Nishikori Nishikori is at the top of his career in the US Open 2014 when he won five sets against Raonic, Wawrinka and Djokovic played 15 sets with them and then collapsed in the final against Cilic It was very frustrating for me to watch him physically collapse in the final was worthy of winning the championship deservedly after the impressive level he gave throughout the tournament But the difference is that Chung cleverly ends the game in less time with 3 sets with mental strength at crucial times in the Tie Breaks Japan has lost the opportunity to win the Grand Slam, but now Korea is back to be Asia's new hope
@thangvuong91967 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference between Nishikori and Chung is Chung still has space to improve and Nishikori is already at his maximum. The size difference is also an advantage that Chung has (6'2") while Nishikori is only 5'10".
@skychaos877 жыл бұрын
height can be an advantage but also has its weakness. if you are a shorter player you'd keep the ball low against taller players and make them run and make them guess by playing behind them. tall players would rely on their service game and find openings for a powerful shot. its all about strategies and game play, the only real advantage for tall players is their service game for you always get the initiative as the server.

4:15, the reason why Chung won: belief, confidence, fire, passion, a sense of belonging, deserving to be on that stage. Way too many up and coming players have too much respect for Novak, and not enough belief in their own talent.
@stephaniecurry1953 Жыл бұрын
Only reason he won was because Novak was not 100% healthy here
@orbitalwarrior Жыл бұрын
@@stephaniecurry1953 Strange then, he just won the AO with a 3cm muscle tear, apparently. So it still took something special for Chung to win, or not? If Novak felt ready to compete, then we never will know the result if he was 100% healthy. He came on court, so he thought he had his chances. Being healthy isn't the only factor to determine your game, you can be 100% healthy and still play a horrible match.

This kid is the real deal, he's improved so much over the past year or so, and this could well be his coming of age, as he's had the first top 10 win, and now the first win over a former world number 1 of his career, and judging by his quarterfinal opponent we could well see him enter the top 30 by next week. The same I feel could be said about Kyle Edmund, he's been tested mentally and physically this past week, and although he's been a bit more of a late developer, he seems to have turned a corner and started really battling through matches even when the odds are stacked against him.

This is why i say its going to be hard for Djokovic to find his previous form. Theirs so much young hungry players out there with LITERALLY the exact same style as him. (Nadal, and Federer dont really have that against them)
@SJ-di5zu7 жыл бұрын
TruthS33ker Nadal’s style is impossible to mimic but Federer’s has been mimicked particularly by Dimitrov. It’s just that he adapted his style a bit when he returned
@MrSunstep7 жыл бұрын
No one has the same style, just that Chung has a similar Djoker style but with more reflexes. Rafa's and Roger's game are more difficult to imitate, Dimitrov is similar to Roger but less quality. Rafa is just Rafa...that left hand spin, that menthal strenght..

Definitely a Floperer fan. Only way the weak era chump can win nowadays is Nadal being past his physical prime or if Djokovic gets upset. Disgusting fanbase the Floperertards.
@Balladhoe7 жыл бұрын
Serena is the G.O.A.T I totally agree with your handle name. But seriously, Nadal past his physical prime at the age of 31 is why 36 year old Roger Federer is winning sounds kinda weird.

Serena is the G.O.A.T Honestly I agree. A large part of Federer’s fan base is quite disgusting. Great player, and a good amount of his fans are fine people, but that vocal group that worships him like he’s a god and discredits Nadal and Djokovic like their life depends on it should just kill themselves honestly

Ishaan Sati No, they are all just to weak to emulate it lol!!!! 😂 To be a bull, you got to have muscles. You got to be fast. You got to be smart. You got to have touch. Most of all, you got to have an indomitable spirit. You can’t be good but choke like Chokovic. You can’t be good but lose to all your biggest rivals and only beat Chumps for Slams like Federer. To be a bull, you got to beat everyone. You have to get back up after breaking your leg. And get back up after your greatest opponents have beaten you and beat them back. There’s only one Rafa because everyone else is too weak.

Glad to see Chung finally break through jn a big match. He has been playing the top tens and losing very tight matches. Remjnds me of Wawrinka before he won a grandslam. Losing tight marathons to good players. Now he has found the next level, deep accurate groundstrokes with consistency and most importantly confidence! Him winning the NextGen is not a fluke. This guy has the mental fortitude that Zverev or Dimitrov lacks.

After watched the match between Chung and Zverev, I was so amazed by Chuang's running and energy level. He almost can run to any position he needs to be in time. That is very important for wining. He is a strong competitor for 2018 AO Championship. Berdych is another strong dark horse.
@anguineus_vir7 жыл бұрын
The difference is that Berdych always misses the final Grand Slams stages, so I wouldn't call him a dark horse
