Really appreciate the attitude Jannik has..as he said in the post match talk, that he was looking forward to the match against Novak,as this was an opportunity for him to learn something,as he did back from his Wimbledon loss.. This attitude itself is a great thing..many actually develop fears or some sort of resistance, carry forward the disappointment from these bitter encounters...but Jannik, courageously, humbly has taken the positives of it and is ready to accept the outcome of the result, but importantly have the attitude to approach it,to learn from it...such a golden thing..which let's him free from those withholding fears and allows him to express himself on the court and learn too... Plus the way he didn't let him the missed match point opportunity in third set to distract him and was up and running in the fourth...and won a game being 0-40 low down..was impressive to say the least... the thought of improving himself..he has mentioned it many times and it's part of his system... not thinking his game is already great, but concentrated on the work...really mature,humble..glad to have seen the match, interview... like how he learns from other players,we can learn from the attitude to approach our day to day life...

The commentators kinda frustrated me, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened with other commenters. Jannik allowed ONE break point (not converted) and by listening to the commentators, you would've assume that Djokovic just completed the greatest comeback of all time. Frustrating to hear very little credit go to the better player.

Sinner showed Novak what others haven’t. His game and never backed down from it. Full trust in his ability to be offensive and make it happen. Novak usually waits for others to crack and that was never Sinner. Also, sinner technique always for less errors and heavy balls. Novak is used to most people on tour not being able to play like Sinner, therefore making Novak look like he was having an off day when in reality, Sinner played Novak the way Novak plays others. Taste of his own medicine

Totally agree. I think Djokovic was always able to outlast his opponents through his super human stamina but also his speed and movement exceeds everyone else's. I still believe Djokovic possesses greater movement on the court than everyone Including Sinner but he is 36 and just getting slower and more tired.

For those who really understand tennis, in this entire match unlike the highlights, you understand how Sinner destroyed Djokovic not only in terms of the game but above all psychologically. In the first games you can see how Djokovic normally hit his powerful shots but they had no effect on Sinner, in fact sinner always hit harder than Djokovic. Starting from the return on Djoko's first serve, Sinner not only always responded, but he responded deeply and powerfully, always taking command of the rally even on Djoko's first serve. That's where Djokovic started to feel helpless and slowly, losing more and more confidence, he started making more mistakes. No bad day for Djokovic, Sinner in this match was simply stronger from all points of view and you can clearly see it by rewatching this match in its entirety!

Happy that AO has gotten a bit faster in the last few years. Love Rafa and Novak, but endless baseline rallies can get exhausting. I love how beautiful the court looks. Wimbledon Center Court feels more intimate, but I just love how clean that blue court looks. Sinner doesn't have the variety of Alcaraz, he outhit Novak from the baseline, that is truly rare. Two players with the same court coverage as Djokovic will make it difficult for him to win more slams. Wimbledon is his best bet I think.

I really hope the end of the "Fitzy" comes along with the end of the Nole era. His commentary is sooo bad. Almost ruined Nadal Med AO 2021 for me. If he is not telling Sinner/Nadal how to play better, or completely writing off Nadals chances for 2 hours, then he's constantly harping about how "off" Nole is. I love how the courtside guy tries to challenge him subtly by saying how good nole looks and how Sinner is just out playing him. Fitzy, just tell us what is happening in the points.

2:57:05 is the reason Djokovic is not loved as much as Federer and Nadal. Those two are a class above

2:46:32 The man in the white shirt and crocodile is the italian Marco Panìchi (pron: Pah-nèè-kee), who from 2019 until May 2024 was Djokovic's physical coach, he was able to revive Nole's flexibility and athletic strength. On Sept. 16, 2024, after his victory at the U.S. Open, Sinner decided to hire him on his coaching staff, and according to many, he made a great bargain hiring him. We will see how he will prepare the Sinner of 2025!

As you age, younger players will beat you. Age is a huge factor in sports, especially one that demands great athleticism. Tennis certainly does, everyone is good at it, but who is the fastest and strongest?

What we have here is a fantastic new player playing against the GOAT on a bad day. Novak earned himself about a C - or a D + for his performance (by his lofty standards). I'm willing to grant that part of Novak's problem was Skinner himself, who has no real weaknesses whatever. But Novak was just off, and had he played at his best, he still would have come out on top. On a general note, I'm very happy Sinner won the tournament, for he's a breath of fresh air and an awfully nice guy.

I think Djokovic should have taken a long sabbatical after his victory at the ATP tournament. He experienced a highly successful year but he is 36 and his body and mind must have been drained to some extent. Also at his age it is a case of diminishing returns wereas Sinner is hungry, young and just getting better.

according to me, the beginning of the end of Djokovic was against Sinner at Davis Cup

@@waynepinnock5874 among the most interesting (and, I think informed) comments on this match, I heard Martina Navratilova saying that, as you age, a bad day can become the worst day. It sounds correct to me.

Sounds about right to me. I am over 40 and when I compare the boundless energy of my childhood, teens and twenties to mid thirties and upward it is like a light slowly glowing less brightly
