I grew up on the prison property. Knew almost every inch of the entire property. Traveled pretty much the entire line. Been in all the buildings. Remember the trains running. We used to put pennies on the tracks as kids. It was a cool time to be a kid.

Awesome! Spent my childhood and early teen years growing up in northern Virginia: Alexandria, Mananas, Woodbridge. Was just 8 when the Auto Train started but i remember going with Dad to watch it switch in those early years. No pictures sadly but we both remember the L&O connecting there. Of course the prison was in use so we never got to tour the line. Thank goodness, i guess, that Dad never asked for access. Very well done. Thanks for the memories and your page here. Would love to see something on the Virginia Central in Fredericksburg. Finished out the teen years down there and in Spotsylvania. The RF&P is my favorite!! Loved sitting at the huge yard in Alexandria. Hated to see it go. Assuming you may eventually do the A&W up there. Will look forward to more. Thanks.

Great video. Grew up in that area. I would like to see something on the abandoned Accotink station, Fort Belvoir spur and where Pearson's Store used to stand. Thanks!

Glad I found your channel and will be a frequent visitor. And, the fan who asks a lot of dumb questions. And make inane comments. Like you quality video work and production values.
