Thank you for reminding us of the horrors happening in Gaza. The story of that young man with Down's syndrome is heart-wrenching. He must have been terrified and anxious to have been left alone, separated from his family and attacked with brutality. What really shocked me regarding biased coverage of the z Israel genocide was the fact that where as Israel’s rebuttal was covered live in full by the BBC (which the Israeli representatives instead of rebutting the charges on a legal basis, the Israeli representatives used their rebuttal of the charges to publish propoganda that consisted of mud slinging untruths about South Africa’s motives rather than addressing pertinent legal issues to address the charges). Owen makes a key point about 14 mins in - there are always individual, somewhat scattered accounts in the media of the horrors taking place at the hands of Israel, however, the overall narrative - one that makes sense and the purpose of those horrors apparent -- is not offered. The listener/viewer is very much on thier own in piecing together a cohesive understanding. This is not how the BBC should work. Its as if a certain quota of truth is allowed, one that can act as a sop/safety valve to our anger and frustration.
