I wonder what the advantages are with alum venturis, Each of the OS (and of course Nova) engines I own are plastic, the Werks and Alpha engines I own use alum., Cooling head looks eerily similar to the Roma's/

Agreed..I've never had any problems with plastic inserts, but cannot see a disadvantage (not even weight to alum ones). I wish more companies would include extra mm. Curious if you have any experience with Alpha engines? I have that Lutz Worlds Edition...what's up with that carb (I believe it's the same as on the A830 Dragon). Can't tune it for crab with stock carb, but I throw on a carb for which I'm familiar (Nova, OS, Werks) and they all get the engine thumpin.

excellent video thank you very much, I have some doubts if I can advise me. compete on a small track, with small and large jumps. one stretch of approximately 40 or 50 meters. and 3,4,5 engines, ports are excellent, plus the track is 70 percent of carpet much traction. NOVA got a P5. but I want to change ... something very aggressive to advance as the track has a lot of traction. I recommend that NOVA and exhaust system and header, venturi also recommend that I use. MANY THANKS. Ah. I'm from Caracas Venezuela.

Im new to racing spec nitro engines, what are venturies and why have different sizes?

+gagag96 The venturi controls how much fuel flows through the carburetor and into the engine; a small venturi, like 6mm, will flow less fuel than say an 8mm venturi. When a smaller venturi flows less fuel into the engine you get longer run times on a single tank; this is especially useful when racing because you don't have to stop and make pit stops as often. But the down side to feeding your engine less fuel is that the engine produces less power. Another negative to a smaller venturi is that tuning can become more difficult as the tuning 'sweet spot' narrows. When using a larger venturi, your engine gets more fuel which means more power! But using more fuel also means your tank of fuel goes empty more quickly. Additionally, finding that 'sweet spot' when tuning is generally easier with a larger venturi as the tuning window widens. Most people use one size venturi and stick with it for their particular engine. But it can be fun and good experience to tinker with them and experiment to see what works best for your needs.

Rob Mc it won't work.... you have to use a box starter for racing .21 engines like this.
