Novastorm is an FMV shooter for the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer that plays sort of like Star Fox, just nowhere close as good. It was released first in 1994 and saw many console iterations. This is one of those early 90's titles that truly depicts where gaming was at the time: innovative, new and experimental, often to a fault in the case of such game. I like to thing titles like this paved the way for more modern FMV games, this just wasn't one of the great ones. As always, all of my videos are captured with original games and hardware in the highest possible video quality (no composite signal and never any emulation!). Enjoy.

Thank you. My fav soundtrack to make. I left Psygnosis after this, I think this might be the first streaming game soundtrack, it was certainly the first at Psygnosis.

@@cnic7085 It's interesting that this video found you! I was a kid during this time and never dreamt of having a 3DO. It was fun acquiring the console and games later on in life. I hope this video brought back some memories. You're a gem if you worked on this.

@@hdrgb Thanks hdRB was fun to see again. I wrote the soundtrack for the original FM Towns and 3DO, before leaving for EA. I think the 3DO is the best of all the Novastorm ones. Pointed the way to Wipeout.

God would love a reboot, remaster of this on PS5. Unfortunately rail shooters are dead in this generation of open world Multiplayer nonsense. Thankfully we still have retro.

When you see 3do and other systems that failed in the past like me more interesting than current systems with bored games, 0 innovation, continuityists, 1000K with minimum differences and video comparisons between consoles that are just a meme many times and companies always squeezing the same old sagas to the point of satiety without risking anything (even Nintendo having increasingly abandoned the adult audience it had and focusing completely on children) you realize how much has been lost in the video game industry, since the arcades disappeared and these types of consoles that, although they did not turn out well at the time, at least they took the risk of launching things that impressed people, with incredible and fun advertising campaigns, not like today where instead of seeing an ad making you want to buy a console takes them away from you. But despite everything they still make good games but in my opinion much less than before

Wow, this version was awful compared to the PC version. The PC version operated at only 30fps but everything else was superior -- the presentation, the upgrade system, and the cutscenes.

Never played the PC version, but yeah, I bet. Early cd consoles, especially being on of the first was tough. The PC always killed it dramatically back then. Still, it gave a lot of people the opportunity to play the game. Everything was ported and tossed around early on as well.

For me the main thing on the PC version was the amazing (but low fidelity) soundtrack by Rik Ede. It's a shame that none of the other versions of Novastorm used it. I would gladly pay for a CD quality release.
