Happy Peak user here. Nice update, this instrument is just fantastic! CALC, culd you please make a small tutorial video about the creation of a Laserdance kind lead (for example shotgun at 0:30). The sounding of Laserdance was so unique even compared to the 90's synth pop era but I really lost while trying to recreate those (or similar) patches/leads. I think many people could use it to learn the instrument better. Thanks!

When creating your own tables, it would be really handy to be able to copy and paste between the 5 windows so you could create one and just modify as you needed.

I would like to request that you add the ability to have more than 5 audio waveform slots. It would be nice for the user to be able to facilitate more fine grain interpolation by including more audio samples.

Is there any possibility of expanding the user waves from 10 slots to more? Would it be possible to delete some of the factory tables to get more if needed?

The peak has ties back to the OSCar synth from 1983. The OSCar had a way to create custom wave forms using additive synthesis.

I've noticed the individual waves in wavetables sound slightly different in the editor than they do in Peak. I'm trying to figure out what could be the issue? Any ideas? I start with an initialized patch and fully open filter and set the shape knob far left. I would assume this would give me the first wave without any wave blending or added modulations
@index77872 жыл бұрын
They are being rendering a completely different way on completely different hardware. Computer CPU vs Peak FPGA. They will always sound different.

for some reason when I reboot my peak all the user WTs reset ... I had two saved, named tables saved to existing patches, they continued to work fine with components then off, usb cable out etc. Cycling between the patches using the two WTs ...but when I reboot gone .. :(

Dear Novation, I have made a set of presets based on my user waveforms. I'm running the latest software. My peak was unplugged for a day or so, now all my stored user waves are gone.. is this normal? If it keeps my patches stored it should be able to keep the wavetables in right? They are zeroooooddd... Any help would be appreciated.

calc says the sample you can load to a wavetable has a limit of 2048, whats that? megabytes, bytes, seconds?
@NovationTV2 жыл бұрын
That's right. Wavetables used are 2048 samples long or 2048 samples per single-cycle.
@sawlfo2 жыл бұрын
@@NovationTV thanks, is there a limit to the duration of the audio import?
@gourkernow56944 жыл бұрын
How long should the update take on a peak? mine is stuck at 13% for the last 5 minutes. OK so word of warning, the update hung but upon closing components and cycling power the Peak was still in boot mode, thankfully upon reinstigating the update from components it completed the update the second time, the update should take no longer than 30 seconds.

Sorry to hear that you had problems. Glad you're now up and running!
@MrBothandNether4 жыл бұрын
And it won't need "warmth" update like some wave table synthesizers did
@mkiswatoo3 жыл бұрын
I don't get why you need 5 waveforms to create a single wavetable!
@NovationTV3 жыл бұрын
Each wavetable is actually a bank of five waveforms, between which you can interpolate with the Shape control. You can import a single audio file as a wavetable, it will be distributed across the five indexes of the wavetable. John // Novation UK 🇬🇧
