Loot Caves have had their time in the sun over the past decade in Warframe, and with the recent addition of another loot cave (and swift removal) from the new Ascension game mode, discussions about loot caves have risen once more. But contrary to popular belief, there has been many infamous grind spots over the years, and today let's dive into one of the more notorious ones with Viver Eris.

PLEASE READ - EDIT: Super important but I forgot to document, the sigils DID have a multiplier but it was very small. The future update to fix the system added MORE multipliers. One note about Excalibur I forgot to mention wasn't super important but interesting to document so I'll pin it here Radial Javelin apparently dealt FULL damage to corpus and can proc bleeding status. Wave 1-4 Corpus crewman and MOA's have roughly 1200 total shields and HP which = to 1 Intensify radial javelin to exterminate them. With 69% Strength that's enough to kill eximus units in one cast. Excal's usually stood at D point and Spammed 4 and sustained via Trinity EV. Just extra tidbits. Credits - User Cidlmmacula

Gonna miss the ascension end room loot cave. Lowering my graphics settings and game resolution to minimum to have a chance of staying longer in the mission has got to be a once in the lifetime experience in Warframe

The Ascension loot cave and the sister dropping multiple arcanes really makes me think about the fact that DE will sometimes resurrect an old farm just to remove it inmediately. The Sister stuff made me feel deja vu because of how similar it was to Silver Grove specter farming, what was once my old plat farm around 2018.

Oh god, the stories! You could also talk about famous bugs, like the OMNI-PROC. For those who didn't know, a specific hit in the 2H Sword stance would deal zero damage, but inflict EVERY status effect possible AT THE SAME TIME. Enemies back then would instantly die because they didn't know how to deal with having that many statuses applied at once.

Power farming was one of the key grinds in Old Warframe, especially with how grindy older systems were (Void keys, fusion cores, affinity etc) This incentivized players to squad up and optimize grinding or else grinding normally like we do now would take forever in the old sandbox era. Obviously through the years we were finally given optimal farms that didn't require maximum cooperation, and DE has essentially given us loot caves as staple modes

Best for what? Only thing you can farm here its: A - credits (index still better) B - shards (useless. Almost everyone alredy has more shards they can spend) C - just usual loot from enemy like on any other mission Why someone spend hours to farm just "everyday loot" when you can spend this time farming event revards?

@@Dima666AirThere was a bug with the endo drop that made it drop more than it should’ve. So if you combine all of that together it becomes a good loot cave for upgrading mods that take a HORRENDOUS amount of endo.

one of the intresting upsides of them implementing daily caps is when ever a lootcave or exploite shows up, it prevents breaking the market/progression. the one that one of the devs said in i think a video by someone im forgetting atm going over history of things that happened with the game, a exploite bug showed up for kdrive standing of interacting with the kdrive races over and over and would allow you to literally get the full amount of standing+(120k) in a single combo.

So, I had started the playing Warframe before this came out, and actually met one of the pioneers of the Viver farm, EatmyDiction. He was a longtime player who was proud of knowing how the game worked and knowing how to break it. DE likely wouldn’t have known about this setup had he not shown Mogamu ( who was arguably the biggest Warframe content creator at the time ) the Viver setup while Mogamu was streaming. Had he not shown DE’s then Golden Boy this farm, it might have lasted much longer.

honestly my least fav loot cave nerf wave is one that still effects us to this day; Draco was herald to several nerfs we had LOS nerfs, enemy spawnrate nerfs, channeling ability nerfs, mesa nerfs, trinity nerfs, greedy pull nerfs, honestly i think it was kinda awful and i think that the frames that they nerfed still havent recovered in many ways (i will never forgive the channeling changes, nor the changes to mesa's ult)

I only know about viver due to shy's vid about it, one of the few vids where it was narrated seriously, unlike her usual persona, which made it memorable to me and made vivergate be like one of the dark history of warframe.

i just wonder what the vision was here, y'know? I feel like before a certain point in warframe's lifetime they just kinda put stuff in the game all full of quality of life issues because they didn't think about how it'd actually feel to grind (e.g. this syndicate system, pets (i love unequipping my pet for no tangible reason just because i'm incubating a new one thank you so much steve), eidolons, thermal fractures, debt bonds pre-PT)

Speaking of loot cave. The ascension mission was broken for a short time. The two small rooms at the end of the mission spat out infinite enemies, and because the Eximus jade unit spawns are buffed the loot that comes out of it is outrageous

Update 15 came to consoles at a later date, whereas E-Gate was discovered AFTER PS4 got the patch, hence that loot cave/exploit was better known. So since 15 came later, I think consoles got the improved syndicate system and didn't have to deal with the low gains and or viver might have been alterred to Hive mission as it came to consoles.

Ascension wasn't the first time this games had a loot cave, and for some players it may be valuable for them to farm a rapid amount of credits and materials (endo) in a short time frame

@@NovaUmbral this. Not everyone in the game farms 24/7 or simply played long enough to not care about "mundane" loot. And this is the reason why I often give credits buff in the relay. My friend had to start a new account not long before cross-save went live, and it was a great insight on what are limiting factors for most neophytes, who are focused on progression. And funnily enough - it is craft time and daily limits (including only one MR per day), then credits, then resources. Affinity was never a problem, if you constantly equip something to level up. Even without busters you are almost done with leveling before the next batch is crafted with daily playing. Damn, even my credits almost went dry, when I decided to craft back stuff I have sold through 10 years of me playing the game because of slots. While my resource stash barely noticed it)

Im convinced DE has just given up. I'm a veteran from 2014, I'm okay with change, but im not okay with this game literally turning into Destiny 3. I quit that toxic bs for a commitment to Warframe and DE is magdumping their own feet while saying quietly that we're the problem. Edit: Jade was a horrible idea, remove the baby from her skin, nobody wanted this. Half us are uncomfortable as hell with this pregnant flying wash cloth It'll go back to being a solo only just so I don't have to look at her. Cry about it.
