I was taught , as a kid, that weather patterns always influence fish and wildlife. To this day, I always get excited to fish as a front approaches. 1 to 2 days before. Some of the best catches I have ever had in the fall were pre-frontal. My first really big largemouth (8lbs) came on a spinner bait in three feet of water in November during a hard rain ahead of a cold front. Caught many good fish that day. Fish feel the pressure drop as a front approaches. And they seem to get active during that time. Great info Randy. Thanks

I'm having a hard time understanding how daylight savings time affects bass fishing. They don't know we rolled the clock back an hour. I do agree that the regular seasonal changes that normally happen in the fall definitely affect them. Also 100% agree with how well the spinnerbait works at that time of the year. Up here in the PNW it's already happening. Early spring and fall are my favorite times to fish.

On nov 4th last year from 12am-5am i fished a resevoir that is completey surrounded by rip rap . That night i caught 7 3lbers 3 4lbers 2 5s and a 6.25 all on a 1/2oz buzz bait in about 1-2 feet of water. Hands down thee best day of fishing ive ever had in 41 years .

Bass don’t have clocks to move back or forward. They, and all animals, are on standard time always (how it should be for us too, IMO,). It’s just us who will be up earlier to get out there for the (normal/natural) time frame sunrise and figure out what they do regularly.

I’m fishing the bass nation national championship on grand nov 2-9. Will definitely have to keep this in mind. Thanks Rando

Unfortunate thing with that tackle warehouse sale is that it’s only specific items that count towards the discount

I found this to be true. Bonus is the lakes aren't being fished due to hunting season.

Good tips to remember. How shallow? 2-3 feet. Especially here in the northeast small lakes.

When he says November in the Ozarks, think mid October in New England.

Glad you made this post. I have avoided the lake because I new it was tough catching fish and also was waiting for the cooldown. I new everything you mentioned but always good to be reminded. My favorite shallow crankbait is a strike king shad.

Time ain't changing here! I hate daylight savings. Living in Kansas with that sun up till damn near 10. Stupid. Now I'm back in good ole AZ where we don't participate in that garbage, we have our own shenanigans to worry about. I think some weirdos are still looking for that bamboo paper!

I wish we would just leave the time alone. It makes no sense at all changing it. It's not like we are gaining or losing daylight, we are just changing the clocks.

Don’t sleep on a swimbait with a clip on short arm spinner with a single willow #4 to #5 size
