That's why they tell you to read the directions first before you start soldering parts on the board. Then instead of cutting the leads for the transistors, you could have used some heat sinks that clamp on the leads and simply used a solder vacuum or wick and disconnected them from the board and did it right.

You might want to start using TunerStudio instead of megatune. It's easier to use than megatune and if you register it you get autotune feature where you can give target AFR ratios and it starts to automatically tune towards your targets. There's actually so many features that I've been using to debug my setups that I probably couldn't live without it.

Nice work. Good details about firmware, etc. I think you can still buy PCI cards for a PC tower with a serial port to actually load the firmware. I know the COM port troubles all too well. Nice job explaining it. Also, how about that BOD rate...rofl! Aahhh the memories.
