Yeeep, best thing is that them claiming that Soviet ship designer specs on paper are somehow legit.... you know, "Hey Komrade Stalin, we didn't make a ship capable of going one against all with the entire Royal Navy" being a surefire way to get shot or sent to Gulag for being a traitor to the Motherland... like, in what would would a Russian ship designer NOT exaggerate their ship's abilities? they literally had to as a matter of life and death. the difference between keeping their jobs and being lined against a wall and shot, or sent to do forced labor in Siberia for ten years..

The Russians were willing to accept very high velocities, and very high barrel wear and hence a short barrel life, when designing their naval guns. The negative parts of this trade-off obviously don't come up in video games, and players are only left with the high velocity. Kronstadt did exist, although it was not completed, the ship was laid down and was under construction when Germany invaded. The guns were delayed on development (hence the attempted Soviet purchase of German 15" guns), although the better-performing guns for the Stalingrad at least made it as far as the testing ground.

​@@forcea1454 You are right but there are many other ships with high velocity that also have large dispersion in the game but because these guns weren't actually fully tested we don't have the dispersions value so the devs just gaved them excellent accuracy (wich is extremely unlikely). Also on a sidenote I don't think they could have actually reached that high velocity in the first place, there is a very high chance of the barrel just exploding when fired, I mean 1000m/s is at least 100/120m/s more than any other battleship gun ever built not only in the game.

i was messing around with the alaska and i found out that if u bring full ammo u can ezly get ammo racked by even 8inch guns if ur close up BUT if u cut ur ammo down to 500 AP and the aux to 500 sap/aavt. u dont get ammo racked. ur 95% more likely to get ammo racked with full ammo in my experience

To the best of my knowledge, magazines and shell rooms aren’t modelled like tanks. They’re either empty or full. I think what you’re experiencing is placebo.

I tried carrying less ammo for awhile, what usually happened was guns would run out of ammo and then be useless

Alaska is one of the only ships modeled with partial ammunition. I don't remember what the other one is. I take 423 rounds exactly to reduce the magazines to below waterline and remove the highest shell room in the barrettes. You can also go down to ~200 shells to reduce the magazines to a minimum but then you only have 200 rounds.

@@barryallenporter8127 No. Most ships have only 1 separate magazine/shell room module per turret, and since each seperate ammo rack module is considered 'full' until there is 0 ammo in it, taking less ammo doesn't matter. But on some ships, if you check the x-ray, you can see more than 1 seperate magazine/shell room per turret. If so, then that ship can carry less ammo to remove the extra ammo racks. You can see in x-ray how much ammo each rack has, but you'll need to to some testing to find out the order in which the racks are depleted though. It's actually the exact same mechanic as ground, as old tanks also have ammo racks grouped into several modules that are considered 'full' until there is 0 ammo(newer tanks tend to have each individual round modeled separately), and most tanks only have 1 turret.

Yeah i saw this ship right when i was testing the armor on the Kommuna and was super excited cause i noticed it's 320mm guns different from the 305's that all russian top tiers have, then i saw the armor, looked better than the Kronshtadt and made me feel a bit happier to grind for it, then i saw a video on the conti di cavour which is the same class and it couldnt even knock out a light cruiser which was just sad, and then i saw the fuel tank layout and that was even weirder. Then i realized that there was no point in grinding for it aside from its good AA and the fact that its the last ship i need to complete the soviet naval tech tree.

also god.... tis genuinely insane, how tanky Scharnhorst is, I'm surprised only one's seemingly in the other team as I've been seeing 4-10 per game for the duration of the event! Like.. I don't think IRL this thing had this insane survivability, it puts the heaviest armor of other nations to shame. (also lol... gotta looove that Naval killstealing meta... you did a solid 87% of that Scharnhorst's crew, but because the Bayern did the last hit it got full credit for the kill, which is x100 what you got (1000 RP+ 3600 SL vs your 10 RP... )

The final rewards after a battle is mainly based on your mission score, which is mainly based on your damage output during the battle overall.

The Germans designed their battleships for close range fighting, and used thick sloped turtleback deck armor. It actually did protect the Bismark pretty well in her final fight, which happened at relatively close range. Since most WT naval games are close range, the German armor scheme naturally excels. And no, getting the kill doesn’t automatically give you huge rewards in naval. If you actually take care to check the post battle results, you can see that the rewards are largely given out according to your mission score, which mostly depends on your raw damage score in naval.

@@kkang2828 but that second half is flatly untrue lol, I've had a single salvo into a 16% crew SKR-7 give me 30k SL (in prem ship). credit for killls gives you huge SL bonuses, and the RP bonuses for the kills aren't to be scoffed at.

I stay away from top tier Naval for now but it's interesting to see that Gaijin still don't plan to make all nation equal, or at the very minimum try. At least this ship doesn't seem broken but come one! France, Italy or even Great Britain (which is crazy to even say) need competitive top tier BBs.

Scharnhoes drove me away from Top tier Naval. How is it fair that a single ship can go braindead and tank fire from a whole team while its tiny 11inch can detonate the most armored ships like Arizona or Neveda. It has been several updates but Gaijin still refuse to add counters to that monster. Worse they feed the monster with more Glorified WW1 BBs

​@rudalkun4187 Well too be fair, ww1 era ships are gonna struggle against ww2 ships. That said, her 11 inch guns are modern variants of the 11 inch guns the nassu class carried in ww1. She won't be OP long however. With Mutsu in game, the queen Elizabeth class and Colorados won't be far behind to put Scharnhorst in its place. Not mentioning the earliest inter war BBs such as Nelson and North Carolina.

Too bad naval servers have been crashing a lot lately. Useful tip: if you sense the game is headed for a crash, end task on the game in task manager and log back into the game. Itll ask if you want to rejoin the match. If you wait for it to crash it wont let you back in and you'll probably have all your crews locked.

Cavour 1942 is a real project, it didn't go through because the 65mm were meant for Aquila and Sparviero and the Italian navy didn't need any more "slow" ships, they wanted cruisers and destroyers
