I do not see a comparison, I only see a subjective opinion about the sound.

Below I have compiled various pros and cons of each rifle based upon Kickingmustang's VSR parts mentioned in the video and pricing, I haven't done this out of spite and I also have no bias towards either gun, this was simply out curiosity. To allow others to decide for themselves. PRICES are NOT set and depending on the options chosen and on sales, conversion rates of currency and where they're bought they could be far more or less then what I have looked at. This is based off research over a few days, which includes common problems and other information about the guns below. I have my own conclusions and preferences from this research, If you're asking me you're still getting more bang for your buck when you buy an SSG24 though this is my personal opinion. (UK) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tokyo Marui VSR-10 Pro Sniper Rifle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- £189.99 - TM Sniper Rifle [Patrol Base] £17.99 - VSR-10 Scope Mount Rail [Patrol Base] £48.54 - VSR-10 Maple Leaf Crazy Jet Barrel 428mm (€54.95) [Skirmshop] £17.44 - VSR-10 Nine ball Hop Rubber (€20.00) [Skirmshop] £189.99- VSR-10 Laylax PSS10 Zero Trigger w/ Piston Set [Patrol Base] £9.99 - VSR-10 Basic M150 500fps spring [Patrol Base] Total = £473.94 + Custom build project + Unique sniper rifle (to a point, the vsr is used alot) + Further upgrades based on user (when you want to upgrade it and have enough money you can) + Near endless customisation and upgrades (a seperate but yet valid point) + Personalisation (own branding, pride, yadaa yadaa) * (According to Mustang these parts will out perform the SSG24 at 90m+) * May improve tech work skills (Not so much as a positive, just a point though) - Cheap body and near zero durability (fall on it and it's gone) - Inner barrel still bends when against objects (due to weak outter barrel problem) - Only 1x mag (not see through) - No scope - No gun box - No BB's - No confirmed or guaranteed performance (quality control on parts and gun, other variables) - No correction to stock hop up arm (bb's still drift right) - Tech work needs to be done - Excluding shipping (for additional parts and gun itself) - Tendencies to turn user/builder into a narcissist, further exposure may cause keyboard warrior syndrome (Cannot confirm*) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Novritsch SSG24 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- £384.42 - SSG24 Rifle (@ current conversion rates with M150 spring and 1x mag) £17.67 - 1x Additional spare mag (1 already included, 2 in total) £13.12 - 1x Additional Novritsch Sniper BB's 0.46 (1 already included, 2 in total) Total = £544.68 (after addons, shipping and customs handling (*estimation £81 for customs handling in UK based on reports)) + 2x Mags + 2x 0.46g HQ BB's + Gun Box + Includes shipping + In most reported cases, ability to hit 100m ranges + Great Quality Control (gun is tested before being released for shipping) + High quality and durable materials (will last you an airsoft lifetime given proper care and maintenance) + Great customers service (reports of spare sears being sent out for free on the first batch due to error) + As of 11/12/17 most if not all the kinks and errors have been worked out of the gun (currently batch 2.5) + Out the box guaranteed performance @ 480-500 fps (assuming you're using M150 spring) - £81 customs handling (guestimation) - * No currency conversion rate fee included - Longer wait period (not sure on the wait period *greater then 2 months) - No scope - Spare parts are relatively expensive (though rarely needed) - May become "HOT" due to hop up creeping - Tendencies to turn user/consumer in a "Novy Fan-boy" (Cannot confirm*)

it depends of the country. In Poland there is no sense to by ssg24 because there are plenty of parts for vsr. Vsr10 built on pdi is much better than ssg. Also you can change body. Ahhh in my opinion best buy is jg bar10. Perfect copy of vsr in almost 1/3 price...

The problem with your comparison is you only showed one particular build on the Marui VSR 10. You could build a budget gun with a JG Bar 10 or a WELL MB03 for much cheaper, and with comparable performance, if not better performance (depending on what path you choose to take parts-wise.) On the completely opposite end of the spectrum, if money was not a concern and you wanted the best, a fully built Marui VSR with all the bells and whistles will definitely outperform an SSG any day. Even a properly built/tuned clone build can outperform and SSG. It all depends on what platform you choose and which aftermarket parts you end up getting, there are cheaper builds and luxury builds that will outperform an SSG. The SSG's selling point is that it is comparable to an upgraded VSR without the user having to do any work on the gun.

I like the fact that it is the first review (that I found) that has some criticism towards the SSG24. That said, to say that it is the only honest review is a little bit insulting towards the other youtubers. People have their own oppinions. For the test itself, I'd love to see a comparison with the same testing conditions. By that I mean: -same shooting position -same target -same (if possible) weather conditions -same ammo (that was the case in this vid I think) -scopes zeroed on the target -same shooter -a background that allows for trajectory comparison As far as I see the reviews untill now, the SSG24 is the undisputed champion in the out-of-the-box category and the VSR-10 will be better than the SSG24 when taken care of. The cost depends on the skills of the owner and upgrade parts, probably you can get a cheaper VSR-10 with better performance (time cost excluded) but it won't be a big difference. I am basing my opinions only on rewievs and comments on the internet. I do not (sadly) own a VSR-10 or a SSG24

Im sticking with the SSG. It has better build quality and preforms just as well. Everyone complains about the price but when you factor in the cost of buying a vsr-10 and putting $400+ into quality upgrades. You are coming out even.
@joshr77816 жыл бұрын
Actually, you really aren't. When you upgrade a vsr (which the ssg is pre-upgraded, not stock), the vsr can easily out perform an ssg and save money. The only thing the extra $200 gets you in the ssg, is not having to do it yourself.
@Front-Toward-Enemy6 жыл бұрын
Josh Rimer wrong, the vsr-10 comes out to being just as expensive as the ssg if not more so once you factor in the cost of the upgrades needed for the vsr-10 to actually be worth a damn. The SSG also still has better externals. The vsr-10 looks and feels like complete shit.
@MrUltranobody6 жыл бұрын
Do not get me wrong, I love the VSR. Especially what you can do externally. But you really should be more honest with yourself ... Even if I only tune the accuracy and performance, I come at least in my country to just under 500 euros. And some things have not been done yet for the durability of the weapon ... In the state, the VSR would shoot at the same level, but eventually something would break ... For example, in my case, the trigger guard. That simply disappears at the SSG. She shoots well and still holds out a lot ... The whole people claiming that they would shoot with their VSR over 100m constant, have accidentally installed the same stuff as my ... Same FPS and tightness and I can only get to 90 - 100m. And not 100%. Already strange ... right? The SSG is not different at all. What bothers me about the SSG, that the internals are not as "high quality" as PDI. It's not as extreme as it sounds, but definitely to see. For example, the cylinder: that of PDI is coated with Teflon, not the SSG. These are subtleties that do not affect the pure performance. To stay realistic: For the 1400 euros you have a VSR that endures a lot and shoot a little better. Emphasis is on a little bit. At this nothing is left of the TM VSR. The shaft, the outer race, just everything has been exchanged. And the SSG24 costs 600 euros with taxes. And she holds out a lot for the price and shoots just as well ... As already mentioned: some small details are different, a bit better processing and that's it. I do not regret having a VSR, but to get the same durability I had to spend some money on it. She is my figurehead in the field. You are definitely more individual with a VSR base. For far less money you have the same longevity and performance. And you usually pay the most money for durability ...
@AarPlays5 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think the biggest difference here is the price between the two. It's $300usd for a TM gspec and $190USD for a zero trigger by laylax. That's $490USD already, not including a new cylinder for the tm to handle springs, a new hop chamber for better airseal, new barrel, new bucking ect. When factoring all that in, the TM platform comes out to over $700USD. Meanwhile you still have a thin stock. Good for weight, bad for durability. The SSG, for the performance out of the box, is cheaper than the TM base. If you want to discuss "get a clone" then you're basically accepting dealing with the issue that is out of spec body. Drop in kits not fitting without filing or grinding ect. Then you also have an even weaker stock and barrel. Sure, you save $160-180USD overall, but all it takes is one fall, or one slip up and you run a higher risk of your gun falling. I rather field a chunky tank, than a Ferrari. Sure, the Ferrari is better, faster, lighter, however the tank will take the beating of woodland. Where I play. My 2 cents

My dad has an Ares Striker (full length, not the silly stubby model). It fires a 0.43 and the equivalent on 0.2 is about 495 (including joule creep), he installed an upgraded cylinder kit sold by Ares as the aluminium stock piston was a little gouged up, had it R-hopped with the stock barrel which according to Ares is a 6.03mm, barrel is original length at around 550mm. Recently he fitted new Sears and that's it. Not much done to it, no volume bullshit or cutting down barrels or changing every part to PDI. Everything is nice and simple. Using Specna Arms 0.43s he managed to hit an oil drum at around 97 metres, I then shot him with it past the barrels with the cross hairs on his head and hit him in the lower back. We haven't ranged tested it properly but it definitely outperforms the SSG in this video whilst costing half as much and firing at a legal velocity. My point is, when did upgrading Airsoft weapons become so complex and expensive? People nowadays spend too long figuring out volume ratios and other shit when you should try something out rather than take someone's word that it won't work. Prove yourself wrong instead of being scared off by someone else. According to all of the number guys in countless Airsoft sniper forums, my dad's rifle shouldn't be able to to what it does. EDIT: Forgot to mention, it is extremely consistent and accurate, the barrel hit wasn't a one off.

love the honesty of this review... For once I'm sure it's from someone who didn't get the replica for free and is semi-obliged to make it shoot rainbow and glitters. a side to side comparison with an upgraded VSR and the SSG internal wise would be nice aswel, or at least an in depth view of the internals of the SSG. it's said to be ready out of the box, but it has too many flaws imo. loud (probably bad voluming), aluminum inner barrel, not a built TDC, and it comes at the price of a decently upgraded VSR. Not to mention the ridiculous price for the mags...
@incognito15592 жыл бұрын
I've taken apart both and they are extremely similar. SSG's are pretty good but you can also get a VSR-10 for far cheaper and spend what you saved on upgrades. In canada its not just the SSG itself that is expensive. my friend one and the price to ship it was kinda hefty. Really depends on if you like upgrading and maybe getting a better performance once you've completed your build or if you want a pretty accurate sniper out of the box for a higher price.

Watching this vid a bit late but i bought a vsr well mb03 which only cost me 80euro. I upgraded the hell out of it and still came less than the ssg24. I have compared it with an ssg24 and my vsr well mb03 outperforms the ssg24 in anyway. this is has also been said from the owners of the ssg24.... However, I decided to purchase and upgrade a vsr because i wanted to learn about the internals n stuff plus i enjoyed building it. It required a lot of work and fine tuning. Although the cost is cheaper, i understand that the ssg24 is here to cater for specific people. Those that want something pre-upgraded out of the box, so instead of spending hours searching online, waiting for days and getting their hands dirty and build their own. they can just say " hey i got an ssg24". So in conclusion - you can't compare them, as they two snipers for two different markets. Also here is what i upgraded: Well Mb03 - 80Eur Action Army 6.03 Inner Barrel - 30Eur Action Army Hop Up Chamber V2 - 60 Eur Action Army Alloy Piston - 30 Eur Action Army Accelerator Bucking - 15Eur ------- Optional Upgrades Inner Barrel Spacers: 10 Eur Action Army 300mm 6.03 Inner Barrel - 30Eur t10 twisted outer barrel 300mm - 50Eur Silencer Adapter - 10 Eur Silencer - 15 Eur total - 215 Eur total with optional upgrades - 300 Eur

My JG AUG A2 DMR fires at 400fps on .2s and with .28s in I was able to reach about 85-90 metres absolute maximum (elevation would have to be added to hit someone in the torso). Base gun cost £120 from a mate along with 3 mags although brand new they don't get much more than that and upgrade parts were laying around and include as follows: M120 spring (unknown make). G&G green bucking. PPS 6.03 455mm inner barrel (stock is 509mm long). Ares Amoeba piston and head (stripped old one by mistake). New contacts, had to use the brass contact tongues out of a G36 trigger box. Tefloned cylinder head. Reshimmed. Wired to Deans. Regreased. And a £20 Chinese scope from Amazon alongside a leftover suppressor. Worst case scenario, all of the parts I've listed would probably cost £100 in total. PPS barrels are around £30 and a Madbull (my go to brand) M120 spring costs about £20 and G&G buckings cost a tenner at worst. If I had bought ALL of the above brand new it would still be less than £250. I know it won't outperform a heavily upgraded sniper rifle but considering the lower muzzle velocity and cost, it seems to be more cost effective than spending damn near £600 on a rifle that shoots hot.

MrFraiche I totally understand, but building your own rifle is just so interesting to do, in my opinion VSR still wins! I have no hate to Nov and I like his vids and what he does but recently he caused a lot of hype about the SSG and that it is the best rifle... it is not the best, I would say it can be better if tinkered with it as anything in Airsoft needs tinkering to make it work like a dream/to its max ability.

Airsoft Max and that's perfectly fine. But it's an outright lie to say the upgraded VSR is cheaper than an SSG (just a Laylax zero trigger + TM VSR alone exceeds the cost of an SSG). A stock VSR will not perform as well as an SSG. That is a fact.

Rasyad Arkan it's actually virtually completely upgraded. The aluminum barrel preforms just as good as steel barrels. Sound isnt a big deal. You seem like a sour puss that i angry because people can buy a better preforming sniper rifle than what you made.

Rasyad Arkan the ssg has barrel spacers
@Front-Toward-Enemy6 жыл бұрын
Rasyad Arkan the STock hop up chamber can over hop .46g bbs and is consistent and thus doesn't need upgrades, the inner barrel is oxidized so it preforms just as well as a steel barrel. The trigger mech is upgraded to handle m190 springs and it comes with a ball bearing spring guide and an upgraded cylinder, piston and piston head which gets 100% air seal. It may not be "completely upgraded" bit it preforms better than 90% of the full upgraded $1000 custom vsr10s Thats I think you are mad at. Now you can just by a sniper rifle for $500 usd and go to the field and compete with guys who have spent $800-$1000 on their sniper rifles.

Is that the stock hopup chamber in the VSR? I don't see you listing a chamber in your upgrade list. I'm surprised the stock chamber can lift such heavy bbs. Besides testing for range, is there any difference in accuracy and groupings between the 2 rifles?
@gradientwharf81607 жыл бұрын
Liang Weihao he probably has a R-Hop
@liangweihao79327 жыл бұрын
Then it should be listed in the upgrade parts. Aren't the hopup chamber, barrel and bucking the most important components in determining range and accuracy? Shouldn't it not be a surprise that a VSR with a R-hop out-performs a SSG24 with a conventional style hopup?

The ssg24 joule creeps alot. swam sniper was positioned high up compared to his target which would obviously give him more range. He was also using a shorter outerbarrel which would give him even more joule creeps. A vsr that joule creeps that hard could do over 100 metres

Up to the point I made this review, there were no honest reviews of the SSG on youtube, there are still very few. The SSG is a good gun, but not great like it is advertised as, or reviewed as by the youtubers who receive sales commissions through their referral links. Same story with his BBs. They are not as heavy as the label says (.48g NOT .49g as an example), and he tests them at a claimed 100m, which again is fake, his sales video for his BBs takes place at around 70-75m range, he lies about the range. It’s a shame he feels the need to do this.

@@kickingmustang yeah, I saw lots of people complaining in comments under novs videos that his products are not as good as advertised, some people just got lemons and no response from the company. I don't like novritsch. Even his playstyle just does not match a sniper and his constant rambling about how perfect his rifle is, even though I get better distances for the same spring from my personal vsr than his old vsr and his new SSGs(I once hit a guy at 140m with m160 spring he was scared shitless that my rifle had more than double the range of his m4 spr). Also even if his products were as good as advertised, I would still prefer to build my own, because that is just part of being an airsoft sniper along with making your ghillie suit.

I chose SSG24 for ??? it costs only 475 euros. and it's READY to use. why I did not choose VSR-10 T.M. Because the base model costs 250 euros and is not ready to be used! In order to have similar performance to the SSG 24, he needs some improvements, for example, which he bought at AirsoftPro(average brand) costs about 800 euros and when you spend 250 + 800=1050 euro you have a rifle ready to use :) and give it is not as good as SSG24 prices to check here: airsoftpro.cz/en/filtr/?q=vsr+10 -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-, dlaczego wybrałem SSG24 ??? kosztuje tylko 475 euro. i jest GOTOWY do użycia. dlaczego nie wybrałem VSR-10 T.M.

2.5 J is not airgun. Maybe in UK, but it doesn’t use metal bbs, so not airgun really. We can use 3.34 J in bolt guns, and 3.42 J is maximum. Btw test was not fair to ssg24. Didn’t have same condition. And why would Nov use ssg24 if it is not better than vsr10? It doesn’t make sense, why would someone use lesser gun? Besides vsr 10 feels Like a cheap toy, in comparison to ssg24, which feels solid as fuck. Ssg24 use vsr10 style hop up rubbers as far as I know. Btw I’m ex-vsr10 User, switched Because vsr10 looks Like shit, and feels Like shit. Shoots great tho’ . But still I would rather buy ssg24 or srs

It seems like gun smiths are salty that others can purchase a gun that performs 90% of an upgraded VSR with 0 time spent with less money and headaches.
@kickingmustang7 жыл бұрын
I would say it performs about 50% as well as a well tuned VSR. Less range, less accuracy, heavier, noisier. There is nothing it is better at.
@MrFraiche7 жыл бұрын
50% performance means it would only hit half the range (150 feet) and half the shots. Clearly that is not the fact and shows your annoyance because it shoots a little more FPS than you desired. A fair test would be to shoot it from the SAME spot at 30, 50, 90m.
@kickingmustang7 жыл бұрын
MrFraiche The SSG won't hit 90m

Nice video mate, can't say I'm surprised with the ssg not shooting as far, and not seeming as accurate as the vsr as it's got an aluminium barrel, a type A hop arm, with the 2 prongs, and who knows what bucking. You have the crazy jet barrel, I bet you have a type B hop lever, for more hop and you have a nine ball bucking, your vsr is the more tuned rifle, I believe the vsr is lighter which will mean more stable when picking your targets, especially when your tired. The truth is, a Cyma 701 with a type b hop lever, crazy jet barrel and nineball bucking, stock internals, would probably give the ssg a run for its money.

Dear Mr Kickingmustang, thank you for your honest review. I was planning to buy a ssg24, but your video changed my mind. I was wondering if you could make a video of your VSR build (and hopefully Tanaka too?), with all components and where you got them from? And perhaps you could also mention something about which rifle you prefer, your Tanaka or TM VSR? (just like the tm mk23 video) I'm guessing VSR will be shooting more consistent compared to hpa?
@kickingmustang7 жыл бұрын
Hey Julius. Thanks for your comments and feedback. My VSR is a Tokyo Marui. It has standard hop chamber with a Nineball rubber, ASPUK Sniper One hop arm, Mapleleaf Crazy Jet barrel. Laylax cylinder + piston, spring guide + nozzle. M150 spring. Springer Budget S-Tigger. My Tanaka is standard apart from Spartan hop chamber + 6.08 PDI barrel + Nineball rubber. I prefer the Tanaka, it is an amazing gun. But the mags are expensive, heavy and only hold 10 BBs. The gun is long and heavy, and tbh I save it for special occasions. for skirmish I prefer the VSR. It is lighter, hold more BBs, is more robust, and if it broke it is easier to fix. Hope that helps?
@dreadbulletz6 жыл бұрын
it also comes down to skill , rifle doesnt come with laser guided bbs , also fuck upgrading , i think the mindset that people have is weird its like your agreeing to buy something you know it sucks and that you basicly have to change everything on it if you want to have a decent rifle so your basicly paying 200 0r 300 euros for a plastic stock and metal tubing , sounds like a rip off to me ,. maybe with the arrival of the ssg companies might get their shit together and start making better products to compete with the better standart out of the box . If anything i think vsr and bar 10 are overpriced you basicly trowing money at something you know it sucks

As i can see almost all the snowflake coments are from ppl that doesnt own an ssg, Ill tell them a few things. I own an ssg. Its a great gun... But it is not mágic. Nov and many other KZbinrs sell it as THEFUCKINBESTGUNEVER. It aint. It is a gun that performs great, but has many issues. First of all in a 500 usd gun you cant sell a gun whose mag doesnt aline propperly into the magwell. Another anoying thing is the problem that many owners have. (Check owners Facebook group) the cocking is many times a lottery. It can cock or it cant. The sound is very loud. The handle jumps when shooting and it makes a very loud sound. It is a great gun, but it doesnt shot 95m without a parabólic shot. At last with the m150 spring that is the stock one. The stock is heavy and also rough, the barrel the same... I would say it is a nice sniper to start with. You will get a nice out of the box sniper... But after checking some nice vsr10 Well upgraded or an upgraded srs there is no way to keep saying it is a top sniper. I mean... An stock srs with a higher spring performs the same and even quiter...

First is how you play then the gun In my country vsr-10 cost 324 euros and i wanted a good barrel in there but i had enought money for ssg so i bought it yes i can do upgrades but in my country its hard to get upgrade parts. Everything gets stopped on the borders... And the ssg is much sturdier when you are a really active player and you fall a lot its better to have something sturdy...But i agree the vsr is better with the internal suppresion etc..

I think if u fill the stock of the SSG24 with some foam it will help reducing the noise... As for the rest i had the same problems, to get a full upgrade on a vsr 10 would cost me close if not over 1000 euro ( gun included), so i chose the SSG24 ...still waiting to get it tho...
