Since I saw him, I’ve considered King’s Dad to be a representation of us. He is the fans, he is what our perspective has been all along. And the only time we get to see him is at the end of the episode as the ultimate being that, at the end of the day, is the reason the show could have existed in the first place. Just like without the titan mayic there is no owl house, without the fans, the show couldn’t have existed in the first place. We only get to see him at the very end, when he tells Luz the things we’ve been screaming at ehr since Thanks to Them, and he gives her the power to defeat Belos once and for all, before he goes away forever. We gave Luz the power to defeat Belos by vocalizing our wants and being so supportive that we got ourselves an (albeit rushed) season three. And once Belos was defeated, and the show came to an end, we went away forever, never to be able to watch their lives again. It’s not a perfect parallel, but it’s a nice thought.

I just noticed, leading up to the release of the finale I heard someone expressing that they didn't want Luz to be revealed as some sort of chosen one because that would be lame and most of the show demonstrates a lot of characters through the importance of their agency, and Luz being born special somehow would muddle that But no they did it exactly right, Luz get's the 11th hour godlike Super Saiyan transformation that lets her win because Papa Titan favored her, which happened because she chose to be kind to King constantly. Might I add that also she only ended up in the mirror dimension afterlife specifically because she stepped in and sacrificed herself to save the Collector, another innocent being, this show is really well written

I feel King's Dad will be the perfect subject of an "Expectation Vs. Reality" meme. When we first learned that King's dad was not only a Titan, but *THE* Titan whose body is the Boiling Isles itself, we expected this guy to be like a Eldritch type of deity who could drive you to madness just by looking at him. Instead...He's like a more cheerful version of Stan Pines. a fun uncle who tells corny jokes and would probably spend his free time on a sofa, watching television with a bag of chips and some root beer (and while I like his voice actor, who is apparently a Legend, It would've been funny if Alex Hirsch voice's King's Dad using his Stan voice. Happy with what we got, though.)
