Now That's Midschool - Ep 1 featuring Leroy Maidment

A tour of Leroy Maidment's workshop in Poole on the south coast of England and the stash of Midschool gold that he's acquired over the years.
Running his own metal fabrication business, Atomic Welding, everywhere you look, there's BMX items to be found. A daily dose of inspiration to Leroy no doubt, and to any customers visiting the workshop, clear love for BMX. If it seems hap-hazard, that's because Leroy works long hours and has no time for fancy displays and the likes. After all, his workshop is how he makes his living. And when he's not creating bespoke items for his customers with his metal crafting skills, he's often infusing BMX into his work by offering repairs to Midschool collectors like myself and modifications to other BMX riders' bikes. What he can't do with metal isn't worth mentioning!
Leroy is a massive S&M Bikes fan and supporter, as you''ll see in this video but he's not limited to that brand when it comes to his collection. Later in the year, I will be revisiting Leroy to film part 2 with him because is home collection is equally as impressive, if not more so. That's where all the small items are kept along with his videos, magazines, stickers and various merchandise that he as amassed!

If memory serves me right, the v1 had the Euro BB but very similar to the PBR. V2 had mid BB had the anchor laser cut into the stay bridge tube and the v3 had mid BB and had the full anchor bridge. I may have gotten those last two the wrong way around. 🤔

I had a Haro frame in the early 2000s that looked exactly like that frame you were discussing and wondering if it was a cheaper complete.

The frame in the video at 5 mins 40 secs? That is Volume Destroyer frame. Midschool legend Jason Enns' signature frame. Like a lot of frames of the early 2000s and a little before, including the Haro Blammo and subsequent Mirra signature frames, featured that wishbone rear triangle feature and so without looking at other tell-tale signs, it's easy to get them mixed up. But this particular frame in the video is 100% a Volume. Leroy was questioning the complete vs aftermarket comparison but as I said, I'm almost 100% sure that Volume didn't offer complete bikes until much later in their existence. I could be wrong and maybe someone will put us right either way in the future. Thanks for watching! 🙏

@briantruxtonjr.6108 No, my attempt at dry humour failed, probably due to bad grammar on my part. 🤦🏼‍♂️ It was meant to sound something like, he couldn't ride it the way Josh Stricker could ride it, which would be totally understandable. Stricker was such a power house when it came to riding. The seed and style....always seemed to be on the ragged edge but made the the ragged edge look so damned good! 👌

Just picked up a new/old s&m frame At a yard sale. Can't recognize the frame tho. Maybe someone can help me out. It's around a 2010 model I think. It has the anchor for the rear seats stay connector. And the cut out shield logo on the lower chainstay connector. Stamped shield logos in both top tube and down tube gussets. Any help would appreciated. I kno someone out there will know..
