I live in Montreal and in clear summer nights is very easy to see something if you just keep your eyes up in the sky for a few minutes. The most common is a light that is wondering around and as by coincidence, moments after I detect it it starts going brighter and brighter almost as the Moon and then vanishes. But at times I sharpen my eye and I can see is still moving up there, like it just shut off the lights. Some other time I"d see them wandering around like fish in an aquarium. The weirdest thing was one I saw once,. high up., which was going in a straight line but like it was being pulled by a chain, advancing by short jumps. i dont know what is going on up there but something is.

I saw one years ago. Early morning, very clear sky, no obstructions to my view. Thought it was a satellite, it was tracking so steadily and glinting, then it sped up and went right across the entire sky, then straight up. Whole sighting took no more than 5 seconds...in 2003 there was no known airborne vehicle I'd ever heard about that could cover that distance in that amount of time.
@johngreen664320 күн бұрын
That all makes sense, satellites. Early evening & they are still catching some sunlight near the horizon & reflect the light including the infrared spectrum. As they travel into the dark they stop reflecting the light which makes them seem to disappear. Take the same shots just before dawn then there won't be much to see as the sunlight isn't reaching the satellites to make them visible. Then the only things visible might raise some curiosity.

Satellites traverse the whole sky, not appear and disappear very quickly in small trails and crisscross over each other's paths. These things are coming in and fading out too quickly suggesting they are not orbiting the earth. And satellites would nit be so close to each other or so numerous. There are about 5000-7000 Satellites orbiting the low earth orbit meaning they would appear much less frequently. There are 11,500 approximate satellites in total. The earth is a huge object and satellites would be much more spread out and sparse. How do I know? I'm an avid astrophotography and telescope enthusiast. I use use several paid apps to track satellites and aircraft very often.

I frequently see a very similar display from Adelaide, South Australia. However, I cannot understand / explain the source of illumination (6 hours AFTER sunset??) when said satellites would have to be inside the earths "shadow" (they're only a few hundred km's up). THAT said, I have witnessed phenomenon (3 objects, brighter, CHANGING speed and DIRECTION whilst visible, periodically appearing / disappearing) on the 27th October 2023 and 1st November 2024. Could not have been satellites and did not correspond with any type of aircraft I know of. A wild guess would be some sort of experimental devices during an annual (?) military exercise?

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIEND! AWESOME as usual Todd! Thanks for sharing. I was told that the reason that you get to see so many ETV's, and other vehicles is because there is a small wormhole over the area that you live. Wormholes allow vehicles to enter and leave our planets atmosphere without burning up or disintegrating. Notice how all vehicles recorded seem to fly into the same small area to leave Earths atmosphere. The earths magnetic field reacts to the Van Allen radiation belts differently at different locations on the planet, and it changes all the time depending on your physical location on Earth, the tilt (on axis) of the planet in conjunction to the distance the Earth is from the sun (summer comparative to winter in this hemisphere) This may change for you depending on the season. Sounds like electromagnetic chaos to me.....

Light trails in the infrared video are artifacts of the in-camera recording process itself, not up in the sky. If he were to physically turn the camera to follow the light, so its image stays centered on one pixel of the camera sensor, there would be no trail behind the satellite following opposite the direction of its path in the sky. As the image moves across the sensor, the point brightly lit one instant goes dark the next as the image traverses it. However, it takes that pixel a bit to fully recover. As an analogy, it is identical to the after image in your eye when you see a sudden bright flash such as lightning at night, or if you stare at a light bulb, then turn out the light. When looking at the LED taillight of the car ahead of you, if you flick your eyeball sideways momentarily it will leave a trail of red dots across your visual field, as the LED is driven by short pulses of electricity.
@BlitzAtao20 күн бұрын
You're right for the trail, il only exists because of the camera, it leaves a ghost image behind moving objects. However it's not because the pixels need time to recover, it's because the camera automatically stacks several frames to increase low-light performances. A lot a CCTV cameras do that.
@For_What_It-s_Worth20 күн бұрын
@@BlitzAtao Ah, always interesting to find out the tricks to the trade. The eye gets its tremendous dynamic range from the recovery delay of the visual molecule, rhodopsin. Light flips its form, sending a nerve signal to the brain from the rods and cones in the retina, but it takes time and energy to reset the molecular shape. Most of the rhodopsin in your eye is triggered most of the time in bright light, and it takes up to half an hour for most of it to resensitize in the dark. This is the primary mechanism of recovered night vision, not the promptly expanding pupil. Individually illuminated areas of the retina ‘bleach’ to a sustained trigger/recovery level based on the intensity, so they each optimize their response. Therefore bright areas don’t need the light hitting the entire retina reduced (much), which would over-dim the darker parts of the image, and vice versa for dark regions of the scene/image. This is what I was thinking of by way of analogy for the delay.
@BlitzAtao20 күн бұрын
@@For_What_It-s_Worth Interesting, I always thought it was our pupil which takes time to fully open to reach our best naked eye "night vision". Always a pleasure to learn something new 👍

@@BlitzAtao That is the typical idea, since it is so obvious, but it’s not the case. In line with the dynamic range thought is the fact (as I remember it) that sunlight on black velvet is 1000 X as bright as the full moon reflecting off snow. Hmm, that actually sounds low, considering further. Shall think.

Satellites orbiting the Earth will first turn red and then disappear as they orbit away from the relative direction of the sun. This is due to the sun "setting" on them as they move away. Just like our sunset, except these are moving at about 3 miles/second making the process of their "setting sun" go by withiin less than a minute. Now, if they appear, then disappear, then re-appear again with a fair consistency, this is due to the satellite rotatating in space and the (likely) solar panels on them catch the sun briefly and show a flash.
@For_What_It-s_Worth20 күн бұрын
~5 miles per second. Sunset on earth at 45° latitude, on either solstice, takes about 3 minutes for the 1/2° wide sun to slide behind/below the horizon at an angle of 90° - (° latitude) = 45° here, because the globe is turning (24 hours * 60 {minutes / hour}) / 360° = 4 minutes/°. (4 minutes / ° ) / ( 0.5° / sun diameter ) = 2 minutes / sun diameter = earth’s rotation rate. To drop below the horizon takes 2 minutes * secant(° latitude) ==> 2min. * ( 1 / cos(45°) ) = 2min. 50sec. Faster/shorter when sun nearer equator than on solstice (shorter days), and vice versa nearer poles, but that equation I don’t feel like deriving just now.

When looking at the LED taillight of the car ahead of you, if you flick your eyeball sideways momentarily it will leave a trail of red dots across your visual field.

My first thoughts were that they are flying in unison, same trajectory and when crossing each others paths, albeit millions of miles apart, they are no threat to each other. We will never know the truth because the truth is kept hidden from us !

Neither. What looks like “going up” is _akshually_ “coming over” from the western horizon, heading basically eastwards, at a relatively constant altitude.

We see huge drones on a regular basis at nite like airplanes here in the East coast. But way more. I'm in Staten Island NY. We border NJ . Took out my binoculars last nite. They looked cool. However I want more powerful binoculars. To see them better

Well, physicist here. If this is real, it’s fascinating. My mother spends about half the year at a temple in India where she meditates and does community service. On some nights, when she points her Canon towards the main temple sanctum, she captures these circles or spheres, which are semi translucent on her photos which are not visible to the eye. She doesn’t capture them when pointing the camera elsewhere, so I don’t think it’s some sort of lens issue. She’s capturing them without the flash, so it can’t be dust particles illuminating, and only when pointed towards the temple. If these are real, I imagine her camera is catching them due to a redshift in the footage it captures. In your case, are these visible to the naked eye, or only on camera?

I am guessing this is facing west and in the evening. The satellites are in sunlight but as they pass eastbound they go into the earth's shadow and disappear. If you went out at midnight it would look quite different.

I've been recording these observations for more than a year. Videos don't do them justice. There are many different types of UFOs which can be seen closer to the source. Also, this video doesn't show the objects glowing red hot for a few minutes after the plasm disulfides. That can be captured in long exposure pictures an hour or two after they can be seen coming over the horizon. Thank you for answering the call.

What are they? Satellites? Space Junk?
@For_What_It-s_Worth20 күн бұрын
Mostly satellites, but the fast-blinky ones are aircraft, mostly commercial airliners. Play back at 0.25 X and they will look more like the familiar things you see blinking their strobes across the night sky, and whose jet roar you can sometimes hear apparently trailing a ways behind, due to the time it takes sound to arrive where you are when listening from where they were when they emitted that moment of sound. As a young boy, I thought the gap from the visible plane to the apparent direction of its sound was what people meant when they talked of a plane “flying faster than sound”.

Hey man great captures of course I can’t tell u what those are but being an avid sky watcher, I have to say they are either satellites or space junk. Only because there is no deviation in trajectory. That tells me they are not anything intelligent ect. But for real great catch. I have concluded that u can see many LEO satellites just after sun set. I advise everyone to take a look up after sunset 😊 again great catches and keep up the good work!

This guy posts these videos almost daily. He knows it's satellites and is purposely vague to get views. Not even hating on him as I enjoy watching and have seen his views and subscribers count rise a lot in the last month with all this UAP/UFO activity going on around the world. I wish you nothing but the best on your KZbin journey and hope to see you grow into a channel that doesn't require such click bait titles and can educate it's viewers and inspire their love for space. One Love.
@Exit-Time111120 күн бұрын
The only one showing lack of intelligence is you. These are NOT satellites, as DO NOT exist. But let's say for arguments sake. Satellites are supposed to be the size of a small car. Even with all its lights on can you see a small car with lights thousands of miles away? How about 100 miles, how about 10 miles? No.......if you can you have super powers.
@Exit-Time111120 күн бұрын
All you people who think these are satellites or "space" junk need to wake up. There are no such thing as satellites. NOTHING has EVER been launched into "space". Do a little research and find out for yourself. But let's say for arguments sake satellites are real and that is what people see crossing the skies . Satellites are supposed to be the size of a small car. Even with all its lights on, even double the lights, can you see a car a thousand miles away? How about a hundred miles? Ten miles? No..... if you can see an object 16 x 12 250-1800 miles away you must have superpowers.😂
