If I recall correctly, in the light novel, Olivia said what he used would be a Giga Flare if they used ancient standards. In the current time, that would be a Ultima Flare. On a side note, Elrado got off lucky in the anime cause even with the shield, he still got charred pretty badly.

@@alexander_bido5924 to be fair, I'm fairly certain he has average magical talent even for people in his new life. However training and spell inheritances suffered such a drastic decline that even a near talentless mage with 0 work ethic from his time knows more about/has more experience using magic than the current generation's strong youngsters. Thus an extremely knowledgeable being from the past with a high work ethic would of course surpass a bunch of geniuses trying to do something like quadratic equations without ever learning their times tables. A genius working with the worst set of tools for the job will generally reach a similar level to a low talent person with most of the right tools for the job until about the highschool level. After that point it all comes down to tools acquired and knowledge learned and talent becomes something that saves time in utilizing those tools/knowledge but arguably unimportant in the long run.
