Animated Megatron's design is inspired by Super Megatron along with Animated Optimus Prime who is loosely inspired by Star Convoy to the point one of his figures is painted to look like Star Convoy, Derrick J. Wyatt was a huge fan of the designs.

Excellent remold, it was about time Megatron got a figure with a super mode. While it is said that it is a remold of Titan's Return Galvatron in reality they only used the arms and legs. The torso, the head and the rest of parts are all new. They also changed the location of the tank threads, they are now in the legs instead of the arms.

I got this figure earlier this year and I have no regrets in buying him. He's a perfect representation of Megatron in my book. I keep the chest and forehead crest in Ultra Megatron mode, while keeping the wings folded up on the back, having the triple tank barrel attached to the back just behind his head, and his arm canon in it's regular formation. Also, I got this badass big sword from Dr. Wu based on the original Japanese G1 Megatron toy's sword for him. Because this Megatron design is too cool to not have a sword!

You forgot the head crystal that's even harder to flip around! Also yeah, the head turning is super hard, but thankfully the lower part of the face is just C-Clipped in, so you can pop it out for better access.

I prefer to keep the jet mode fusion cannon, and would have put the tank turret on the other shoulder, but very nice figure here! Thought he might get additional parts to appear bigger at first, but still looks very nice! Wish Super Megatron was a thing in the official Transformers series also, not just the toylines.

I will say in the nearly forty years that Transformers has been around there has never been a Super Megatron made, in either the US or Japan, until now. The next figures that should be made that were never made are Ultra Megatron and Deathcobra.

Maybe the video should be re titled to "Now THIS is how you do NOT do a Super Megatron" if there are so many issues with the figure and it comes from the Hasbro-Takara-Tomy Elites service (AKA Selects), rather then being a proper retail figure. It's a shame really as the Seacons are suffering the same fate and those companies seem to be getting too into exclusivity recently. :(. For the bog standard Ultra Megatron mode you just keep his regular face, but yeah you forgot to switch to the red head jewel like MST3KTom mentioned. Still it's something I guess.

Here's my gripe with Hasbro, their recent attempt at cross dimension Transformers are comparable to KO designs, and I mean the bad ones that you only see in Hongkong or Sirtoys. Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Top Gun, and now this. Normally, it doesn't trigger me if the price is right, say $20 for each and everyone I mentioned, but Hasbro just have the audacity to demand absurd prices for less than mediocre designs and quality. You're Hasbro and you own the name right to one of the most popular adult toy collections of our time, and you come up with Transformers that a 1st year or even senior high school engineer designer can do. What is worst is that they sell like cup cakes. This "SUPER" Megatron is NO different.
