A lot of comments about my use of the word “Biblical”. It is NOT alluding to the Bible of Christianity but rather a slang term for religious scripture. In this case Hindu scripture. It isn’t the correct use of the word but that is what was meant by the term.

Thanks for the support 😌🙏🏼 This movie isn’t fully based on scriptures - it’s part history, part scriptures,part fictional references hence NagAshwin used cultural influence. Mahabharatham actually happened and Kurukshetram war happened in Kurukshetra, city in Haryana Like our Chola kings, Pallava kings, Kaakathiya kings, Kuru Dynasty, Ikshvaku dynasty are all part India’s ancestry. We go and see the places they ruled, the huge cities, universities, temples they have built . A lot were destroyed or were lost in time but temples stayed . It isn’t easy to know about Bharath’s history as our own country don’t have so much covered in our text books. These movies are a small step towards re-discovering our civilisation for us.

TLDR The story is linked to an ancient scripture called Mahabharata which is the longest text among all religious texts. It's like game of thrones but more virtuous and with an intention. There was a war which was fought between two factions in the kingdom. On the side of protagonist, there was lord krishna, an avatar of Lord vishnu. While the war was happening, there was a character named ashwathama, who deceitfully killed some people, so lord krishna cursed him that he will remain alive for thousands of years, untill another avatar of vishnu comes on earth and he would have to help him The old bearded man you see is that character, ashwathama. In the trailer, there's a mother who is supposedly giving birth to KALKI, the final avatar of Lord vishnu, and as mentioned above, the old cursed man ashwathama is supposed to protect him. The young guy is bhariava, a bounty hunter. We don't know what his deal is, or how he connects with the ancient story. Watch the movie to find out. Sadly it would hit harder if people know about the mahabharat, but even then, it's still a solid watch.

Just a context to the movie - According to Hinduism Lord Vishnu is one of the supreme deities including Brahma and Shiva . Whenever peace and harmony ends a new incarnation of Vishnu occurs to protect earth . Vishnu have 10 avatars or incarnations out of which 9 were already born earlier and the last one whose name is Kalki which you can see through the movie name is yet to be born in a yuga or era we are living called the kali yuga which is ruled by a demon named Kali purush . At the end of the era it is believed that a war will happen between Kalki and Kali purush and he will end him and bring back humanity again . 7 immortals who were born in past are believed to train and help kalki in his war with kali. Out of the seven the olderly character shown is Aswathama who was cursed by Lord krishna an incarnation of Lord Vishnu to suffer and live with immortality till the kali yuga ends and he himself was protecting the newborn who is none other than Kalki himself inside her womb. For better understanding you have to study the war of Mahabharata and about the seven immortals and about kali yuga then you can relate it easily .

So, Prabhas tries to catch Sau 80 to receive bounty to live in Complex and Ashwathama is trying to save Sau 80 and Kalki in her womb.

In their last incarnation of Vishnu he was called as "Krishna" (Lord Krishna) , he given some curse to a character called "ashwatthama" (now in the trailer old man), due to the reason of killing unborn child in the womb ( during the Mahabharata war as per Hindu scriptures)to wait till the end of earth, when I (Vishnu) will take a birth and that he has to save him. So basically the old trying to correct his mistakes this time.. this unborn child name would be "Kalki" to fulfill the purpose of killing the evil "Kali" , this Kali is waiting for his pick since a long time , so Kali wants to be a supreme god , so he wants his (god incarnation human body DNA) , so he could become a god and kill the Kalki before taking birth and become immortal.

When you say Biblical, well, its true in a way. Just that it is based on Hindu mythology, not the Bible. The text that the movie is anchored in is Mahabharata. Which is the longest poem in human history, five times the length of the Bible and written at least 400 years before the Bible, describes a great war in India that took place around 5000 years ago. Fun fact, the car shown at 2:52 is not CGI, its real. The filmmaker commissioned an Indian Automotive Giant Mahindra Group to create this car for the movie. Although Mahindra is the world's largest tractor manufacturer (larger than John Deere), but Mahindra also makes cars and markets them in India, Australia, Africa and Latin America, so they got experience. They coopted JA Motorsports, that is India's largest motorsport company that designs racing vehicles. Autocar India also featured the car.
