Exactly! I can see how she felt hurt being judged for a past mistake that she was owning up to. Not entirely fair- but the fact is. She never told her last man. She was never actually held accountable. And that seems to me like the kind of person she needs will hold her accountable, bc that’s EXACTLY what she’s most afraid of! And the way she got defensive? “I have needs too!” Idt shes grown passed it as much as she thinks if shes still trying to justify it. And if we’re supposed to get married in a month??? First thoughts, will Netflix ever learn to use a content or trigger warning? Still, I'm happy Chris was validated by Johnie. Johnie's mom is weird. I've been rooting for Johnie since the trailer dropped simply because her mom doesn't seem to be. Seems like the kind of mother who could make a career out of throwing underhanded comments and digs at their child. Hoping that's not the case. Lydia asking Izzy for reasons was...uncomfortable to watch lmao. I was like babe, just go-exit the premises. Uche going in on Aaliyah after "we're leaving here together" was yikes. Also, the critique after "you can be honest" is going to mess with someone's head. "You can be honest" implies you are safe to be honest and that was very much not the case. She was set up because he already knew it was something he'd be rigid on if she said she'd cheated. "You don't feel embarrassed or ashamed about what you did?" I mean damn, it just never ended. Uche did not possess the emotional intelligence [clearly] or grace to handle this situation or Aaliyah with care. The whole conversation was wild and Aaliyah needs support and actual guidance through self-reflection because some of her reasons were ridiculous lol. Regardless of her past choices or even her current way of discussing it, I couldn't stand to sit and watch Uche tell this woman who she is. He just handed out emotional lashings on international TV to someone he barely knows, only to slip in oh so quickly I cheated too before continuing his lashings. And then, to throw in "you didn't have to tell me" as she's leaving when he did press for the information. I so hope she does not go back to him when he decides he can "forgive" her for something she didn't do to him. Will do my best to avoid certain buzzwords but he seems like the type to say something specific that triggers you, you have a reaction, and then he goes "well I didn't say..." when he most certainly did. With Lydia, I took her reaction to Aaliyah more as "don't allow someone to break you down like that and stand firm in yourself" because she did similarly respond to Izzy by begging him to explain why not her and almost put him in a position of power over herself.

@@WilliamsPinch I don't think her mom said she doesn't deserve love, but suggesting she's just not made for marriage when marriage carries such a great cultural and lifetime significance to a lot of people, presumably her daughter included, is sad and could hurt deeply. That would've personally made me rethink tbh..people are different but if it's a deal breaker for someone..that's legitimate and doesn't make you toxic or judgemental and tbf I get his "recent cheating" comment unlike most people 😅 I mean it would've been different for him if it happened like years ago when she was a teen or something but his point was that it happened when she was 28 so it's a huge deal still ..!! And that's why he brought up the fact that he did a similar thing when he was 18 .. It sounded like he was judging her but he was caught off guard..maybe didn't expect that from her specifically, maybe that's literally his deal breaker..but you can see that he likes her enough to get over it eventually and move on..he's just asking questions, hard ones which is fair enough..give the man a chance 😂

I have a feeling this is gonna be the worst season. Finding love in Houston is like looking for a needle in a haystack isnt it? Its an educational student oriented place that people may move out of easily. I saw barely any couples in the trailer! LOL.

Don’t do us Houstonians like that😂😂 Sidebar; you’re not lying! I did the legwork and it’s nothing here😂

Lydia was tooooooo much. Her advice was horr- shit wasn’t even advice 😭😭😭 “you’re just like me” don’t project your misery on me, ma’am 😭

I don't like Lydia, I tried but she's a no for me, same with Johnnie and this was just after watching episode 1...lol. I like AaliyaH and Uche, but he seems like he definitely judge her and that makes a person not want to open up to you. Chris seems like a genuine guy.

Even though Uche was 'right' in a sense. He did not have the right to scold Aaliyah. She already knew she fucked up. There was no point in making her feel worse about it. It gave parent child dynamic. Why say she can be honest with you when you're going to rip her head off? He's so self righteous. He gets on my nerves I'm so sorryyyyyy 😭 we all know cheating isn't right but damn

The passion you have talking about nerds has me dyingggg, hahahaa. Also Aliyah is so weird I am sooo curious about what her story is, either something wild or she’s just a pathological liar lol

Uche was sooo judgmental, and kept emotionally torturing Aaliyah with this "weren't you ashamed?" speech. Omg that was so hard to watch. JUSTICE FOR AALIYAH!

On a different channel of an African American woman i saw she thought Miriam was being sketchy cause she thought her business was skin bleaching. I cannot give an actual opinion on that. I lived in asia so i know how people do that. But its not my place to say if it's true or not. But i thought it was an interesting take.

I'm I the only one who thinks Izzy just didn't want to be with Lydia because she's a latina? He looks white and I wouldn't have ever known that he is Mexican if he didn't say it to Lydia. But we never hear him talking about it to the other women though.

Aaliyah claiming that she values honesty and then admitting to cheating for abysmal reasons and also never confessing is a red flag. Uche may have come across judgemental, but damn. She never took accountability for her actions, that’s why the conversation hurt her so much.

Shame shame shame like game of thrones had me cryin lord you funny! That gyal works on skin bleaching (allegedly in my mind)- Miriam is a scientist for skin bleaching I dunno why my spidey sense says she was here to sell her brands

If Aaliyah was 26 at the time of taping, that meant she cheated that ONE time at 24…who didn’t make relationships at that 24 yrs old. Uche berating her; being her judge, jury, & executioner was extremely hard to watch. He asked Aaliyah to share her truth, and he verbally beat her with her own truth. Evil. He is NOT a safe person for her. I hope he has watched this and realized that you shouldn’t treat your significant other as a hostile witness, when they are being vulnerable and honest. Evil.
