My boys hunt, and I have canned over 100 pints of venison, which got shared with my boys. I also got some burger which i canned because i didn't have the room in my freezer. I put a half of beef bullion in and some onions in my pint jars. They also had sweet Italian sausage links made which i packaged just 2 in each just for me to eat. My son also got a deer with his car but it didn't damage the car. Which i canned 17 pints that happened right before Christmas.

We call that bowling for deer. Every year, someone we know hits one with their car. Several years ago, a co-worker his one on his motorcycle, and he was bruised badly during the fall, but thankfully recovered after several weeks. We have several who sleep in our backyard every evening. They are such beautiful creatures.

Enjoyed this video. I just love your trips and taking us along. My family was avid deer hunters. Daddy killed them, Momma cleaned them, and then she started hunting a few years before she passed away. Uncles and cousins pretty much all hunters. I have never had deer that didn't have a little gamey taste. The family said it had no gamey taste, but I tasted it. God Bless You All 🙌 🙏 ❤❤

Tessie we are a huge hunting family here in Texas. We love it! We try to get 3 deer a year and we clean it, cut it up and take it to our very small town butcher just as y’all do as well. We pay a little under 3 $ a pound and ours is mixed with beef and pork. It taste delicious and we never have to buy ground meat all year We use it for everything! So glad y’all are doing this. Take care ❤

Our son-in-law does all the field dressing he actually cuts the meat off of the animal and he takes the meat then into the butcher then we go ahead and we pay for the bill which is about $3 per pound a lot cheaper than buying ground beef at the store we are very blessed with a small country butcher

I see that as God provision. One yr I was craving deer meat for deer jerky and I prayed that my husband who went hunting for the first time that God would bless us with a dear and he did. My husband said he fumbled the gun several times and the deer was in an open place and tried to get away and even reared up and couldnt budge. Thats how my husband got it. It was like an angel had a laso around the deers neck because by all understanding of reality the deer should have gotten away but God was holding it for us. God is good and Im so happy for you guys. Little places like that place you stopped to get breakfast are what america was built on. Lord bless you sweet Tess and your hubby and family.❤❤❤

I buy the hunting license for a friend and then help age the venison and elk, then cut and wrap the meat and I get some of it. There are some excellent KZbin videos on how to process them at home. I like the Bon Appétit channel that has videos on how to butcher a pig, lamb, chicken, side of beef at home. Personally, I avoid meat from the grocery store, and use our local butcher who processes friends home grown beef, lamb, pork.
@kittyrichards9915Күн бұрын
We found it was not economical to pay a butcher shop to process the deer mest. It only makes economic sense if you process it yourself. Find a friend with experience and learn from them.

@HomesteadTessieКүн бұрын
I have decided to live life each day and not do and say some things that I used to on video for instance we did take a few months off from getting breakfast and things like that to save a little bit of money. But I realized that I put too much emphasis on money and we're just going to live each day as if it's our last. No we don't have a lot of finances to go out to eat often like a couple times a week but life is too short and I'm going to live it and enjoy it and not try to please everyone by saying I'm not going to do this or not do that and then turn around and do it. So I'm just gonna be me fully in all of my videos and enjoy life as it comes so that is one of the biggest mistakes that I made on youtube was to tell people I'm gonna do this and do that even though I try when I make a video every single day I have to share and show what I do each day
