What a fun trip! In 1974(I'm 78!), we drove from Brussels, through France and Spain, crossed at Gibraltar, and crossed the Sahara to reach our home for 2 years in Southern Chad. When we drove through Spain, I was amazed by the beauty of olive groves on acres of hillsides; later also enjoyed them in Israel. So I truly enjoyed your tour! Also, I have a collection of tiny, individual salt cellars and spoons. They are all different; I have about 170 of them. It is lovely to get to know Sarah and to see your easy relationship. I always enjoy your activities, no matter what you're doing.

Being 65 and from the south I can’t imagine anyone not having made chicken salad.😜. It’s so easy. Basic is poached\ boiled chicken, mayo, celery. Or anything you want to add. Pecans, almonds, cranberries, apples, grapes….pretty much anything. Our fav is basic with mayo, celery garlic salt and pepper. My daughter makes a delish curry chicken salad. Good luck. Secret ingredient is Dukes mayo……it’s a must. Sarah, let us know how it turns out.

Gerontoelia tree in Naxos Greece claims that it is the oldest olive tree in the world estimating to be more than 5000 years old and therefore older than the ancient tree of Vrouves in Crete. Olive oil it's a symbol of my country, Greek heritage and a testament to the country's rich history. Nice tour Becky. I am curious to try olive oil from the USA one day. ❤️❤️

To be fair, when good olive oil is not as common in an area, it costs more. You live in a country that produces it so it isn’t shipped across the globe.
@kazapthegreat5306Күн бұрын
@@aloras405 very true. There’s so much here that it’s often just given away in huge bottles to friends and neighbours. Last winter, we produce 30 litres with only 10 trees.

Becky in Italy I use unfiltered olive oil. The ones you showed that need to be shaken. The remnants are a sign of minimal processing, preserving the oil's natural flavors and nutrients. It’s cloudy with sediments and I love the robust more fruity flavour. You will love it I’m sure. The ones I get here in Italy from the taggia region is my favourite taggiasca olive oil. I also like the ones from Tuscany but somehow the taggia ones are my favourite. Tasted olive oil from many regions in Greece and the Middle East. Brined olives my favourite are the ones from Turkey. It’s heavenly ❤ Great video I enjoyed it so much

I visited Oregon several years ago and my favorite thing was when driving through the smaller highways towards Tillamook, you could look off to the side and there were just little waterfalls peaking through the forests. The winding highways around the mountains created just an absolutely wonderful experience. It was so beautiful. I'll never forget. I'm from one of the plains states and we just don't have that kind of eco system here. Oregon and Washington are on my bucket list to visit again and take in the sights more. Thanks for sharing this!

What a wonderful video & experiences for Becky & her sister. Treasure the days whilst you can. Oh boy - this had me with so many memories, As an ex South African having studied and years later living in the SA Winelands this just brought back memories of my husband & I going out tasting wine, local food, brandy, cheese etc. We got married in a chapel on a wine grape farm & our reception at a winery. Now living in England & it was interesting to hear UK city & town names - Dundee. Hillsborough, reminders of the links between our countries.
