As a recovered alcoholic, coming up on 23 years sober, I can relate to everything he was talking about. Occasionally, my sick alcoholic mind will try to tell me that I could handle it now and that I could have just one drink. Thank God i know better. If I were to have even one beer today, that overwhelming obsession for more would overtake me and I would be that guy Richard was talking about. But, The real problem would be, I would be that way for probably the rest of my life, which most likely, not be very long. What a great skit this was for me. It reminds me of myself and of the miserable existence I had for so long and what a wonderful life I now live that could be totally destroyed by just one drink.

These fear mongers, spreading the worry of where this debauchery will lead. So silly. Same place all that clean living ends up. In the dirt. We all die. I question the sanity of anyone that wants those "sunset" years. The years of , all your friends dead or dying, failing mind and body, a complete burden to anyone who gives a shit to care after you. Then , three generations later no one who ever spoke to you is alive to remember good deeds or no. So, drink or don't. Do what YOU want, not what's expected. Be somewhat independent and original. Why sheep it to the last breath. Well unless that's your thing. Do you
