As a recovered alcoholic, coming up on 23 years sober, I can relate to everything he was talking about. Occasionally, my sick alcoholic mind will try to tell me that I could handle it now and that I could have just one drink. Thank God i know better. If I were to have even one beer today, that overwhelming obsession for more would overtake me and I would be that guy Richard was talking about. But, The real problem would be, I would be that way for probably the rest of my life, which most likely, not be very long. What a great skit this was for me. It reminds me of myself and of the miserable existence I had for so long and what a wonderful life I now live that could be totally destroyed by just one drink.

Thanks man. I struggle, and I'm drinking a small amount of lab grade alcohol right now. (I run a lab from home and make a humble living that way) and you may have a point. Want to hear a fun story? My girlfriend was driving down US 50 towards Los Angeles and hit a elk. We went into Ely Nevada and got a hotel room and the police showed up. The police asked her for a breathalyzer and when they did that her breathalyzer was point 33. Not 033 but 0.33 and I looked at the sergeant that was on the scene I said yeah you're going to let her go right now because that is wrong and you know it's wrong. Wanna know why drunks talk so much and talk so loud? Matt Damon breaks it down pretty well when he explains how the point of drinking is to kill brain cells. "First the sadness cells die so you smile real big. Then the quiet cells go so you just say everything real loud for no reason at all. But that's okay because the stupid cells go next so everything you say is real smart." ― Captain Randolph Junuh: The Legend of Bagger Vance

These fear mongers, spreading the worry of where this debauchery will lead. So silly. Same place all that clean living ends up. In the dirt. We all die. I question the sanity of anyone that wants those "sunset" years. The years of , all your friends dead or dying, failing mind and body, a complete burden to anyone who gives a shit to care after you. Then , three generations later no one who ever spoke to you is alive to remember good deeds or no. So, drink or don't. Do what YOU want, not what's expected. Be somewhat independent and original. Why sheep it to the last breath. Well unless that's your thing. Do you

Hate to say it but I have to say, playing a drunk is best played by a Irishman from the old day's and way's, while talking they did the swaying and nearly falling but never . Richard is king of stand up, .RIP☘️👦🏿🌹

The hecklers ruined this film. I tried watching it on VHS and had to stop, around this point. Annoying.

That laying on the ground part, crawling to the toilet, man that is too real. It makes me instantly remember the times that's happened to me. Watching that is an instant cure for when you feel like drinking 😂😅
