Regular Conditioner, Deep Conditioner, Hair Mask| What's The Difference?

Thanks for this video! I only use heat on my hair 2 times a year but wear my hair straight 365 days a year. I noticed my hair was a tad bit dry and I was exercising very very minor breakage. So I wanted to know if I should get a mask or deep conditioners. So basically... Deep conditioners = intense moisturizers for dry damaged hair (penetrating ingredients) [no protein or very little?] Hair mask = strengthening "conditioner" used to put protein in your hair to strengthen the integrity of your hair. [Has protein may moisturize?] Ps: I saw ur thumbnail for your most recent video...your hair in beautiful!

And now we have bond building treatments that also tend to contain protein LOL. It's funny I have been making my own conditioner for years now and I always felt like it went into my hair better. then when I used commercial conditioners I didn't like them. I didn't realize the conditioner I make is actually a deep conditioner because of the ingredients I use and the difference is very noticeable to me, especially after a proper shampooing. thanks for the explanation 🙂

Excellent video. Can you clarify how I can tell the difference between a straight protein deep conditioner and a Moisturizing deep Conditioner which has protein in it? I am trying to separate the two and keep one in one pile and the other in another pile. Do moisturizing conditioners ever have hydrolized in them

hii so the first five to six ingredients of a product constitute 90 percent of the product. if u see a protein in the first 5-6 ingredients in the ingredient list then that product is a protein product, otherwise it isnt :)

I’ve seen one conditioner that has majority of the good stuff that you’d expect from a deep conditioner. I wanna use it since I’ve only seen Oreo deep conditioners in the market which are fairly hard to find and one of them has been deemed “unsatisfactory”

I don't know your hair type, but I would think that should be switched around..maybe use the protein mask once a month, and a DC once a week. They say that's how often you should use the protein..especially a hardcore one. Just my 5 cents.

I believe a hair mask might be too heavy as a regular moisturizer, but it all depends. I would probably dilute the mask with water or aloe vera if I were to use it on my hair regularly

In a different video, I read comments from natural sisters that does the same with great results. I have low porosity hair and wanted to know your input. When I try this technique it will be with a protein free mask.

Definitely not a stupid question. Yes you can, but usually a hair mask has some conditioning properties so see how your hair feels after that and if its dry then try the conditioner.

Yeah in fact there are videos that help you turn your regular conditioners into deep conditioners. Its literally just mixing regular conditioner with penetrating oils. I honestly just feel like using aussie moist conditioners as a deep conditioner

I think it depends on the type of conditioner. Some of them have ingredients that are already good for deep conditioning(Like Ogx Conditioner that has egg whites and coconut oil)
