Thank you, Don, for excellent teaching. Preterism and futurism are like two ways of explaining a clear sky. Preterism is like acknowledging that the storm has already passed, and now you're enjoying the sunshine-everything significant has already occurred. Futurism, on the other hand, is like wearing a raincoat and carrying an umbrella, insisting that a torrential downpour is imminent despite the bright, cloudless sky. One is rooted in reality, while the other is obsessing over an imaginary storm that's never going to happen.

Amen. From my SAD notes folder, thought I'd share with you, based on your excellent comment. In a Preterist framework, resurrection was explained using natural resurrection language, but was metaphorical in its application in speaking of the hope of Israel, or the corporate resurrection of the people of God from their dead state, or their lost condition. It includes conversion of the unbeliever to believer (being "raised to life" in Christ) as well as the corporate resurrection of the "body of Christ" which was to include gentiles and Jews into one new body or one new man in Christ. John 3:3 = resurrection. Resurrection: In a futurist framework, resurrection is primarily something that takes place at the end of time or at the return of Jesus when the physical bodies of the dead rise up and meet their spiritual counterparts, in the sky or in heaven, in a new, glorified state. It also accompanies the resurrection of the unjust that are raised to suffer eternal death.

II Peter 1:16-18 is where Peter recounts what he (and John and James, along with Jesus) witnessed on the mount of transfiguration. Thank you, Dr. Preston, for explaining the meaning of that vision and how it points to the timing of Christ's parousia in the first century, within the generation of Matthew 24:34. Blessings.

You make a major issue of one verb tense in Colossians 2:17 - and then ignore dozens that teach the forgiveness of sins prior to AD70. Then you assure us that the only thing nailed to the cross in Colossians 2:13-14 was the *debt of sin.* But then you turn right around and contradict your own words and say the *debt of sin* was not "really" and objectively forgiven yet. Well Don, maybe those feast days in Colossians 2:17 were not "really" and objectively still shadows of the good things to come.

Colossians 2:17 Berean Standard Bible "These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ." Folks, ask yourself the question. What's more important? The "shadow" or the "body" that casts the shadow. The body of Christ was not still dead in sin until AD70. The *debt of sin* was not still hanging over the heads of born-again Christians. The Colossians had never even been under the OC law of Moses. The substance is of Christ! And the Colossians were already "raised with Christ" by the same power that raised Him from the dead.

@@wally763 The apostle is protecting Gentile Christians from the re-imposition of Jewish institutions as such, as impairing their faith in Christ (comp. Galatians 5:2-9), and as, in the case of the Colossians, involving a deference to the authority of angels which limited his sovereignty and sufficiency (vers. 8-10, 18, 19). This verse contains in germ much of the thought of the Epistle to the Hebrews. Colossians 2:17.

Colossians 3:3-4 Glorification came at the Parousia, not before. Therefore, they were in a process. When Christ their life, which was hidden with Christ, appears, they would be glorified with Him (inwardly) Romans 8:17-18; 13:11. Groaning is inwardly.... The had to endure to the end. Luke 21:19, not only for their soul salvation, but for ours too. 1 Peter 1:9 He who started a good work in you will complete in the day of Christ Jesus. (A process) Pearls are at each entrance into the city. Revelation 21:21

Well, I don't ignore any of the Greek tenses. But you park on present tenses and deny or ignore the future tenses. And it is not just one word or one tense in Colossians 2. It is a present active...Hmmm, you claim to like present actives but not here-- right. And then it is the future.

1 thess 4 says when jesus comes those who are alive will meet jesus in the air and go to heaven. So when jesus comes we get ascended into heaven just like jesus . The dead in Christ will rise first 🎉

Last days ... The 7 creative Days in creation Genesis 1 had last days within their period of time. The 7th creative *Rest day* for Sons and Daughters of God is in his eternal rest, not as our meaning of time but as a condition of immortality.

KJV Mathhew 13:39-40 says end of the world and the ESV says end of the Age.

It is not the "end of the world." The Greek of the text is suntelieas tou aionios (or a form of it) aionios is age, not world.

Your argument is half correct/true OC ended when John the Baptist start his ministry according with Jesus if we read the Bible without preconceptions. NC will end sometime in the future and no one knows when except The Father and that’s according with Jesus Christ teachings…so of course Christianity will come to an end when the humans will be made in the image of Christ. The Law prophesied until John does not mean that the Law ended at John. t mans that the time of fulfillment arrived with John. When Hebrews was written the Law had still not passed away, but was "nigh unto passing."

All the resurrection’s happened and everyone judged so what’s the point of the salvation aka Christianity 😅 its illogical to get saved if it happened.
