In todays video I tear down my NP233C transfer case out of my 2001 Chevrolet S10 that we are straight axle swapping and install the JB conversions Standard SYE kit. I also bought some used NP231J parts off ‪@ebaymotors‬ In order to swap out the front output so I can utilize my Jeep drivelines and get rid of the front driveshaft slip yoke. Stay tuned next week where we will be building the rear 3 link suspension in the S10!

@@IronDragonSC well i am using the shifter for the 241c out of a 94 pickup. I slung a rod out of the oil pan in the 4.3l get a buddy's ram out of river bottoms before i finished installing the shifter completely.

I used this case when swapping a 5.3 in my TJ. I have made 2 shift arms and used the "cable shift upgrade" from the TJ. I made a shift arm the same length as the jeep arm. I cut up a gatekeeper off-road cable shifter because it was the cheapest at the time. I made the arm out of 1/8" plate and made it a friction fit around that shift stump. Then I used a cotter pin to hold it all in place. I'll send you pictures if you want.

You won't need to clock the tcase at all. Running the same tcase and front axle with 14"shocks and have no issues. Also the only way I know to get manual shift is by using the case and the shift mechanism from a manual shift tcase. You can get manual shift 231c for the s10 pretty easy.

I agree I have 14" coilovers on the front of my TJ with 5.3 and S10 4l60 and superduty one tons. No clocking needed

It's probably unneeded info at this point, but I feel that the people wanting to run a clocking ring are probably running a low pinion front axle..... Of course I could be totally wrong too.

The guy that had to clock his is running a atlas 4 speed, that is probably why. I probably won’t need it.

Thanks for doing such a great job on your build. I've been considering making my GMC SONOMA into a 4X4 but don't know if I'm up for the task. But I sure enjoy watching other people do there builds.

On my 93 blazer with a 233 I ended up using a long piece of 2", 1/4" thick steel and cut a slit in the floor board. The throw was horribly long, looking back I would have just done a 231 swap with a jb shifter . As for the clocking ring I've never had to clock a stock case on any of the sas s10s I've done but I did do a nv4500/241 and had to clock the case to avoid doing a body lift. That being said I have an extra 231c laying around if you decide to go that route. I'm a few hours south of you just east of albany Or

I thought you mentioned in the earlier video you already had the Journeys manual shift kit!? And even if not completely necessary, the clock ring will give options on packaging.

can you do the same transfer case upgrade the bleepin jeep did on there S10 from the Onx build challenge? from my understanding it gave them an extra low gear for crawling or is what you did here good for most trails?

No need to clock the t-case. Lots of room. Electronic shifter never gave me any trouble even when with a 44/9 axle swap and 37s. Do yourself a favour and grab an astro van steering box too.

I don’t know about using the front case half and converting it to manual shift, but there’s always a front case half from a manual shift 231C. Snag the linkage too…?

So Im curious as Im not a big 4x4 guy! wondering whats purpose of this? I have a 99 blazer with same case but even though I fixed all the 4x4 and have it working Ive yet to even use 4wd in the 7 months Ive had it. I bought to restore and it just happened to be a 4wd. This for strength ? I aslo just sold a clean cj7 I redone and had it a year and half and also never used the 4wd so Im dumb to this stuff so just asking?

You said there is no timeline to be finiahed ,so save up a month or 2 and get one.The price of doing drivelines 2x will be just as much or more than the doubler kit.
@JW-cn6op
@JW-cn6op Жыл бұрын
Also once you have the front axle mounted so you have a measuring point it could be real close to using the jeep driveline with the added length of a reduction.sinve the jeeps seem to have a real long front driveline compared to a straight axle pickup with a sngle case? Just a thought to look at.

@@MuddyBeards4X4you could just do a front half of a 231c and buy a kit to make that into a doubler
