The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) opened Singapore’s first dedicated facility for animal behavioural rehabilitation on 31 March 2022.
The Centre for Animal Rehabilitation marks a key milestone in AVS's science-based efforts to manage Singapore’s stray animal population and will support the nationwide Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) programme, which aims to rehome as many stray dogs as possible.
The centre has a Visitor’s Lounge which is designed to mimic a home environment to ease integration of the stray dogs into pet life and purpose-built features such as compartmentalised kennels and dog runs.
In this video, see how behavioural rehabilitation helped Garlic, a Singapore Special that came in under the TNRM, learn about life as a pet with one of our staff. Take a look inside the newly opened Centre for Animal Rehabilitation too! 🐾
