Amazing ending. For me Greg didn't die because of baradun. He died trying to save bodger. He brought himself out of the room with a roof. If he'd stuck to his other blades spell he likely would've won as reverse gravity would've had little effect

The reverse gravity thing sucked but it was unlucky: This happened because all of these things alligned: - greg didnt engage in most of the fight so ended up stayed on high hp and resources but in turn he didnt really get much action + reverse gravity combines badly with the falling houserule + rob hadnt encountered reverse gravity spell combining with his falling damage house rule before because its a high level spell used rarely + greg missed the save which if he made he would have taken 0 damage from it + greg didnt have any lucky tokens left to reroll it + greg and the rest of the table forgot greg has a lifewell tattoo that would have made him only go to 1 hp + greg happened to not be under a roof + rob didnt realize fast enough that a des macina token there would be ideal Was unfortunate. But random things line up sometimes in both good and bad ways. Such is life. We can learn: - update reverse gravity for the house rules - engage in fights early on so you experience more back and forth... especially if the game is time limited - if you die suddenly, check your character sheet, you may have something that solves it that you just forgot.

Feel horrible for Greg. I'd be so salty in his position. Can be in the best position the entire game, just to be literally one shot with no chance to do anything else. He could've played perfectly, and rolled 20 every single other time and still lost because without prior knowledge of Baraduns spell, and actively trying to stay under a roof the whole time, which he also couldn't technically control because of the changing terrain, he had no chance. Like, if ever is a time to use a Machina token it's on the guy that can use that one hitpoint to actually recover, after having a good game. But no, insta-dead. That sucks

I understand Rob's house rule that fall damage should be adjusted, but reverse Gravety is a 7th level spell and the averaged damage of 55 fits much better than the 110. In my opinion the spell should also be adjusted if you use that house rule so that players only ascend 50 feet into the air, for example. Being sniped like that doesn't feel right for the greatest garlicfarmer in history. But that's all complaining on a high level, all players were well prepared and Rob showed once again with the arena and his management how great he can create and direct games.

Someone who knows the rules, can maybe do a quick note of what happens on turns, whos concentrating on what, can point out that someone has used their ability already in a round etc. And this is in no way a dig at rob or anyone, because honestly, with the guys style of play and having fun plus the length of time, its no wonder that you all get distracted and forget things. It would be nearly impossible to remain focused & remember everything the whole time. So i guess to sum up, i think having an extra person who is note taker & the groups memory would really benefit everyone.

Also a thing that can help too, to help people remember is little tag markers people can place near their characters and don’t take up to much space. Since I play both DnD and Battletech, I use these things in BT to help note the many things that can happen (penalties for heat, piloting rolls, prone mechs, uncon pilots, etc. It’s just a small square or rectangular plastic marker with either a universal symbol everyone can understand or better a very notable word/penalty on it. Since I had these I’ve used them for DnD and they help so much for Tabletop vs rings as people forget rings or what they mean easily. However, seeing the word concentration beside their characters people are more easy to remember the rules or point it out as a reminder for people, plus it comes in handy for quickly being able to place/remove. Also a small thing to help too, is create spell cards for people that have just the relevant information on them. Good example here which could have effected a lot is Baradun’s concentration for both his dragon and hold spells. Having a small card he can look at/ play that notes them both as concentration spells that he, others or the GM can note and go “oh you can play this but it cancels your other one” really works at keeping players consistent and more focused at learning their spells. Same can apply to stuff like Shield of Faith where you just place the DC con check on it (or leave it blank and let them mark them themselves based on relevant rolls) as such when it’s needed to be rolled instead of having to repeat the number as they will forget constantly you just say “look at your card” and since it becomes a constant process they do such naturally as time progresses, improving speed of play and learning. Also helps with just natural learning as instead of having to read past fluff and such, it’s just all the relevant rolls, damage and details layed out simply. I.e. Eldritch Blast Lvl - (insert player lvl) No of Att = Action Cost: 1 Action Range/Area: 120ft Duration: Instant Attack Roll: D20+MoD+Bonus vs AC Effect: 1D10 Force Damage Simple, easy to reference and note. And you can have fun playing them at people. Plus it’s nice to show everyone so they can learn too and see the rules to check everything is square too.

Really like the dark tone at the end. It was an accurate simulation! 1. Bodger was the biggest immediate threat. Everyone aimed for him. He was a walking monster that no one want to deal with, but Bodger was relentlessly running after all of them. 2. Bob struggled a lot, but he was hiding and sneaking around to find opening. Like Bodger, he would run after both casters, but at least he could hit them from afar. Him and Bodger kept the other two in-check. Bob did a great scouting and hunting them, wish he had more options for Wotsit and BatBob. 3. Greg had a masterplan, but one badluck got him. He should have been more aggro, but he played like a true cleric and even helped Bodger. He didnt seek battle, but he make sure no one mess with him. 4. Baradun acted like Baradun would. He let everyone fight each other, run away constantly and use powerful spells each time he could. Not an impressive play, but he simply did what was necessary to stay alive and avoid fighting. But let me get one thing straight: I'm not blaming Rob for not being able too keep track of this all, I think its players job to know their own abilities. What I think Rob did not do well is that he made Reverse Gravity too powerful by changing falling rules. He should weaken the spell accorgingly. Otherwise it's turning up how it was - lame one shot. I enjoyed it nonetheless. I can still see everyone got much better at D&D then what they were (mostly Bob and Greg).

@@TheGamingplayer12 It's a lot more powerful than desintegrate. Avarage disintegrate does 73 dmg on a single target. This does on avarage 110 dmg (plus dmg of objects they hit the way between floor and ceiling!) on targets in huge 50 foot radius. Dex save is only if you have something to grab into. If targets succeeds in dex save you can leave the spell to keep them pinned down. You should compare it to something like 9th level Meteor Swarm - 140 dmg on avarage, 70 dmg on succesful dex save, but you can always make a dex save radius is smaller (40 foot), and no additional utility. Overall, new Reverse Gravity is equal to at least 8th if not 9th level spell. On a top of that, as I mentioned before, spell is only a part of the reason.

It was damn exciting! Thanks, guys! And the way Rob wove a PvPshot into the plot of the main campaign with a few sentences was an elegant conclusion

53:19 Question - doesn't Greg have a deathward ring or tattoo or sth that on 0HP puts you to 1HP? From the recent gambler-giant loot in the main campaign? And I haven't seen the last ep yet (176), so sorry if it's explained there :D

At points this was really frustrating to watch. Feels like every ruling was bent in Adam's favour and some things just straight ignored for him to not lose his dragon, concentration etc. Super frustrating at times

loved these episodes, however I wasnt over thrilled with how it ended bob dieing from 'god damage'while it was 1v1 that should of stopped. and i feel baradun had alot of concentration biases

just made it feel very anti-climatic maybe letting it go on a bit longer or paused and taken the session back up it could have been wrapped up more enjoyable. plus that dragon was very meta game

This was absolutely awesome! Thank you for doing that. And I LOVE that Rob gave a twist at the end to link it back to the actual campaign even though the guys assumed this would not be "canon" at all. Also, my prediction on the first video was actually not *that* far of, I'm surprised :D: "Predicting that Baradun will get bloodied from the first round by Bodger but get away and eventually win. BoB will get the killing blow on Greg, Baradun will kill Bodger and then only just kill Bob before almost dying himself. Let's see how wrong I am at the end!" I got the who kills who swapped around but the winner right! Yay!

HOW I WISH THEY GREEN SCREENED FOR THIS! Rob, I love how you tied it back to the main campaign at the end, what a great way to wrap it all up. These one-shot games the channel throws up once in a while are always fun and I hope there are more in the future.

While I would have liked the lesser favorites to win Greg or Bob just to mix things up. I do think this did a good job of everyone getting to shine at least once. Bodger was still impossible to kill and lowkey love it was his own attack that brought him down again. Bob was the one to finally kill of the toughest guys which is pretty canon accurate considering his boss kill count. Greg went from being a clueless artificer to being a pretty good cleric who was a favorite to win the whole thing. And Baradun shows he is the most powerful sorcerer in the land that could have one shot most of the party at any time.

I would argue that Greg would not have fallen for the full 6 seconds, falling 100 feet takes about 2.5 seconds, but he needs to fall both up and down for a full 5 seconds And i would imagine the casting of the spell, and the spell actually causing the effect taking more then 1 second. So i would argue that if Baradun dropped concentration on the same turn, Greg would not have fallen the full 100 feet giving him less fall damage, or giving Greg a turn during which he is falling. During that turn he could have tried to use his spiritual weapon to try to break his fall. Would that have saved him? who knows But it would have felt better then getting oneshot with no recourse. Like Adam said: "it didn't feel like a good win for some reason"

Also feels kind of arbitrary that fall damage was chosen to be more realistically lethal than getting hit in the head with a massive hammer/axe or getting ignited by a giant fireball.

It's like getting shot in anime. You can get sliced up and run through with swords all day, but when the bad guy shoots your nakama in the back with a gun suddenly phoenix down does fuck all. With the standard rules Bodger can literally throw himself from the sky like he did once already, but given average or lower damage he wouldn't even get knocked out by the impact. Is it consistent? No, but for some reason having falling damage be unrealistic feels more egregious than having weapon damage be unrealistic.
