this video proves that true talent is ignored. Under a 100,000 views? One of my all-time favorite bands.

Lol, maybe! But there are also just so many great bands out there these days that it's hard to even keep track! Someone just recommended these guys to me, but my favorite band for the past few years has been The Oh Hellos, and I'm currently obsessed with Saintseneca... I've also been listening to The Lumineers since about 2013, and my God, have they come a long way! Their most recent album is a masterpiece! Not for nothing, but I majored in English, and I have very high standards when it comes to lyrics.

yeah ten years on this is still one of my favorite live videos. Sound quality is a little low though so that could always be part of it.

So the first time I heard the first song in this medley, it was difficult to choke back the tears. The lead singer makes great use of his voice's natural textures to convey the pain and fear and very dimly lit hope of the lyrics.
@azcomeazgo11 жыл бұрын
Wow. This is amazing. The overall crescendo across both songs is phenomenal. They seem like a motley crew of musicians at first, but then truly come together as one in a soaring climax. Brilliant.

For me, slightly under a month of listening to this. I still love it , and almost cry "we are all dying!" Two grand songs.

The violinist on the left is my sisters babysitter and I'm always eager to hear her stories from Typhoon when she comes over. I'm playing with this amazing band in an all ages concert here in Portland in about a month. It's the most excited I've been in my entire life. They make the most amazing music.

I didn't need any comments from others to know at first glance/listen that this music had some deep meanings to the band... you can feel it if you are seasoned enough to hear it... but truth is not everyone can pick up on it

I have a decent vocabulary, but your post inspired me to look up HYPERBOLE...Thanks :) One of my best friends uses the word often enough and I always felt I could infer the meaning but never cared to clarify. Learning is neat.

@griffenb ~ You of course have the right to your opinion! It might make a difference to know these musicians have seen death amongst their close friends... and one a member of the band nearly died of a serious illness, having an organ transplant saved his life. Just FYI. If you don't like the music, I'm sure other music will please you. Be well!
@lesliefreeman57929 жыл бұрын
These guys are great and I will be looking for more, my one problem was that the lead guy (who is great) his sound should have been lowered when the rest of the band came in on this song...again good stuff
@ronetele1311 жыл бұрын
great stuff. for something quite similarly magical (check out The Family Crest Band.
@Asmallbray11 жыл бұрын
When you say "Hyperbole" what are you specifically discussing? The lyrics? The phrasing? The texture? Porque amigo? I guess the similes and metaphors in this song could be discussed as Hyperbolic, but apart of me just thinks the narrator's on the edge of something. To simply call it hyperbole is to question the sincerity of the narrator (i.e., the writer/singer). This isn't a challenge, more of a "seems to me."

Well, there is always SOMEONE focused on making money. That's how the band makes money. Oh, Arcade Fire? You mean the band that had more than one of their songs on the computer point-and-click game Gray Matter?

Who are the current 24 thumbs down? What would they like?
@Asmallbray11 жыл бұрын
Edit: I guess "Eternity will smile on me" is most definitely hyperbole. Disregard.
