@ToeJ man don't be all gatekeepery about it, if they like the snare work it doesn't mean that there aren't more skilled drummers or complex parts. Why would you even watch the video and comment just to dog someone else's tastes, surely you can find better uses for your time.
@LieuweBuik4 жыл бұрын
@ToeJ even if you're not into Protomartyr's music, there's no denying that Alex Leonard is an incredible drummer. Listen to tracks like 'Cowards Starve', 'The Chuckler', 'Up The Tower', 'Windsor Hum' , 'A Private Understanding'.... it carries their performance. less is more. cheers

Just starting to get into protomartyr as I was told they have been inspired by the mighty fall, so after hearing a good few tracks I can definitely hear similarities but that what music is all about, inspiring people and Mark e Smith certainly does that for me on a daily basis, so back to protomartyr, really enjoying what I'm hearing, could be a start of a fine journey and if they do kinda sound like the fall then imo there's nothing wrong with sounding like the greatest group ever, just my opinion I know, but I'm right though 🤔

I actually prefer this over their albums, I was drawn to these guys on this set before I knew of their album, I was drawn by his rusky, dry voice and the nonchalant appearance and just a want to sing good music - their other work just confused it and it feels like there's just too much sound going on to focus on his voice.
