There's a select number of artists that sound as good live as they do on recordings. Then there's even a smaller group that sound BETTER live, and Allen Stone is one of them. Not a single incorrect note, so much raw emotion and energy, and simply pure talent. Such an incredible musician.

@@sustainablemma283 Same here. Unaware was his big break but it is old. I personally like his newer "post love/Wiser Allen" material. He speaks a lot of his personal growth in his interviews from the last year or so and it shows in his music. His TEDTalk on mental real estate is a particularly good listen. He references how he moved on from carrying bitterness during the time period he was indebted to his ex manager and other stuff going on in his life. Great to see he's come out on top from that period of his life.

You genuinely don’t understand that? Then you don’t understand anything about the music industry today. Allen makes REAL music not commercial sellable stuff so that’s why he hasn’t made it big and won’t make it big. Because he will never sell out and change.
@humanbeing494

@@OldSkool2007- I understand the status quo I just choose to ignore it and listen to artists that have the breadth of talent, fortitude of will and strength of conviction to operate outside the current norms because they just have to make music, they avoid the instant retreat to not attempting to breakthrough because of the cards being stacked against them, I was trying to be kind about a great artist who I think deserves more recognition - he has notably turned down larger contracts within the industry purely because of the threat to his creativity and potentially being owned by a conglomerate - I dont feel owned or controlled by the current music industry either which is aimed at a different demographic hence I can promote and be a fan of who I want, if you go looking for offence eventually you're gonna find it.....

@Anthony Abrakmanov What I find impressive and what I hear the most during his show are tremolos. Tremolo is a variation of the volume, while vibrato is a variation of the frequency. He combines both a lot, but what makes him stand out is his absolute control of the tremolo. Just listen closely, the volume goes up and down, not the frequency.

Random comment but had to say it as I’m rewatching this. Got to meet Allen Stone at one of his shows in Fort Lauderdale. Good lord was this guy one of the kindest and humblest folk I’ve ever met. Taller than I expected haha but seriously a great person. We don’t get people/performers like this often. Appreciate this man and give him his flowers while he’s still here!

One of my favorite memories is seeing Allen a few months after I moved to Colorado. My sister and I went to a free festival (Chipotle was putting it on to celebrate the community. Random, I know) and some bands were supposed to be playing. The guy next to us was insanely stoked to see Allen play and was like "You haven't heard Allen Stone?! Oh man. You're in for a treat". I thought maybe he was exaggerating but boy, was he right. If you get to see him live, do it. The energy, love, and passion flowing through everyone in the space is almost tangible. I'll forever be grateful we took a bus across town for free food but ended up with a captivating experience and a new favorite artist
