@@damianmcdonald7658 "Oluwa" is in reference to a higher power, essentially it means our God. It is common in Nigerian names of Yoruba decent, as is Burna Boy (and myself) to have "Olu" in their names because the meaning of names in Nigeria is believed to be tied to the prosperity of the person, so it is very important. Names are VERY important in Nigerian culture. For example, my full name is "Olubusola" with a meaning along the lines of, God has given you much, has bestowed plenty upon you. So essentially, this reference is a link to God, that many Yoruba people have in their names, and therefore, in them.

Just because Burna is more mainstream don’t mean he’s the best sound out of Africa. Burna is the man no doubt. He’s the best now. In terms of authenticity, there’s a mixture of different sounds that Burna uses, from Afrobeats to South African style music to Caribbean vibes etc....

DJ CALIX Definitely, Davido’s album didn’t live up to the expectation, and to believe the masses waited for four years for that stuff and got that was distasteful. Almost all the songs on the album were mediocre aside from 2-3 songs. Definitely not a Grammy material.

Just Finger Nobody is comparing. And even if we compare, why can’t we?, our music genre is about to break new grounds in the international scene, we need someone who can be a face of it. So, sending a message to “contenders” that you have to come with a message in your music, the type that puts you in a Grammy nomination is not a bad thing. Moreover, this new version of Afrobeats is still at its fledgling state, so we can shape it early. No bad energy, my comment was made out of love for Afrobeats. I’m a fan first.
