An interesting and informative video Warren, I can imagine its very useful to detectorists who use or are interested in the Apex machine, I have realised over the years I have been watching detecting videos that they are evolving each year and though to me they seem very complicated I am beginning to understand how they work and the ways in which they differ. The US fork was a great find for Colleen, especially as it was her first, well done sweetheart. I liked the old coins too, the coins of my childhood will always be special to me in fact my memory is not so good now but I still understand the old currency lol. The coke bottle is a lovely find, it came a long way to end up in the Australian bush, a shame the top had disappeared. I have heard the sound that was noticeable before in Australia though I know what makes it I can't spell it lol, an insect I believe beginning with a C . Time for my dinner so cheerio my friends, take care and stay safe please, God bless you both love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK

Great review - thanks. Question in reference to the charging port, I hear through the grapevine that some APEX owners have been successful at adding a permanent small magnetic charging lead to the port that is left on all the time and fits under the cover for magnetic charging. We all know how ports can get discombobulated over time - your thoughts.
@NQExplorers Жыл бұрын
No problem with the charging port itself - we have had to replace the small rubber cover which took some damage at some point. Happy Fossicking! Warren.

Do you use the pin point mode on the apex? Or do you find it useless.
@NQExplorers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Mark, no we don't actually use the Pinpoint function on any of our detectors - just as easy to do a 'DD wiggle' then use the Propointer. Constant use of the Pinpoint function will tend to drain the battery quicker too on any machine. Cheers mate and Happy Fossicking! Warren.

G'day Warren & Collen, The 1⅜ item is called a Welsh Plug it is fitted to engine blocks were the water galleries are machined. I thoroughly enjoyed the video mate & picked up quite a bit thank you very much, I've saved it for future reference as well, would it be asking too much if you could do a similar video on the Garrett AT Gold please mate. Sitting down in the Australian bush with a Vegemite & Cheese sanger how much better could it get Mate & Happy Australia Day as well. Thanks' again Mate & Happy Fossicking, Steve.

For a total beginner who's never metal detected before in the UK and wants to get started, would you recommend the 400i or the Apex? Thanks
@NQExplorers3 жыл бұрын
If your budget allows, I would go with the Apex every time. A lot more features and a much more capable detector, and one that you will never have to upgrade from. Cheers mate. Warren.

The small difference in price makes the Apex the choice in every case! It is a far more capable detector.

Wow. What a video! Came for the review of the Apex... stayed for the great finds! My partner and I just bought a 17th century house with a lot of history (used to be an inn) and looking to sweep the gardens with a detector before doing some landscaping - this detector might be overkill for that. What do you suggest?
@NQExplorers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Matt, yes the Apex is perfect for your landscaping project - with its ability to discriminate the iron and pick the good targets. Good luck and Happy Fossicking! Warren.

just got an apex with the viper coil I'm loving it so far. when your searching for old coins like penny's etc what settings do you prefer? mine is currently set to zero, high sensitivity, MF not sure if I should have iron audio on or off?
@NQExplorers2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I would generally run with Iron Audio on at all times. But at a lower volume than your target audio. That way you always know the extent of the site through the scatter of iron artefacts. Hope this helps. Happy Fossicking! Warren.

Strewth! Warren was so convincing that I nearly went out and bought one. I then realized that my wheely walker would interfere with it. bugger! The males Warren look after the nest. They get a reward for doing so. Why didn't you show your viewers the work they do? Well said about the pinpointer. I don't see the point of a long-range pinpointer.
